If you want to get away from it all, and I mean truly get away from it all, then Hotel Sanmark is the place to do. It sits between two small towns near the Southern coast. The closest beach feels like you're very own private beach with no one else but you. The staff are lovely and the service is incredible. Try to enjoy the breakfast on the balcony and you'll truly understand what an undiscovered gem Sanmark is!

I stayed at the hotel sanmark for 5 nights and highly recommend it. The owner Sami and his staff are lovely and really care about your safety and holiday experience. The included breakfasts are first class and I ended up just eating at the hotel as the food was great. The room is huge, beds comfortable and wifi super fast and reliable. I was struggling with the heat a bit so the rooms are great being cool and airc air conditioned. The place is so clean you feel bad walking around. Sami is a great caring host and a good chess player if that is your thing. One day I caught a bus to Halle and came back in the dark. I missed the stop and got off some distance up the road. Next thing Sami shows up on a motorbike to get me as they had been worried and watching passing buses. Amazing. I had an ocean facing room but they are all good, beds are amazing. Go the Sri Lankan breakfast with fruit and tea.

Stayed here with my family in March 2019. On arrival, we were greeted by decent friendly staff, along with welcome drinks. They changed the floor level immediately after I shared my personal reasons. The room is really good. Check out the pictures that have been posted here. Although the property isn't huge and landscaped, it has great views and spacious rooms. The staff's service was also very good. Quick response to serving tea milk dinner etc. As Indian Vegetarian lovers, we did have a hard time getting our taste buds used to the definition of vegetarian food here. but that was a challenge for us across Sri Lanka. The pool is small and looks like it was recently built. But large enough for a kid to enjoy.

The hospitality of the hotel staff creates a feeling of comfort and safety. No strangers are allowed in. The public areas and rooms are thoroughly cleaned. The very nice restaurant food is freshly made to order and consistently delicious. Lots of fruit and veggies. The kitchen and dishes are very clean. Fresh fish or seafood from a nearby fishermen's counter can be brought to be grilled at a reasonable cost. The beds and mattresses are really comfortable.

It's amazing to be able to stay here. The service here was excellent, and so was the food served. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The room size was spacious and the property was in an ideal position, facing the sea. I want to express my gratitude to Hassan Dara for making our stay comfortable.

We stayed at the landmark hotel in November 2019. The hotel staff met well and were friendly. We arrived from the airport to the hotel at 6 am and were immediately checked into a free room, not waiting for the scheduled time 14. 00. First settled in a bed room, I liked it very much and we were allowed to stay in it for the entire stay at no additional cost. Breakfast in-house. Hotel rooms are clean and spacious. There is air conditioning and a fan. Bed linen and towels are clean and snow white. Plumbing is new. There is hot and cold water 24 hours a day. There is a to. The bed is soft and large, with a mosquito-proof shelter. The kettle and hair dryer are both. The staff and hotel administration are very friendly. We fulfilled all our wishes. On the ground floor there is a restaurant. We ate there. The menu is varied. The portions are large and delicious. In addition to the menu, the chef can prepare a dish according to your recipe. Individual approach. The hotel is right on the ocean, just cross the road. The underwater world is rich with corals and plenty of fish. Nice to swim in the mask. And whoever is afraid to go over the stones into the water, you can walk 200 meters from the hotel to the sand cove.

Well we didn't actually get to stay. We booked the hotel in April on Expedia/Hotels.com and when we arrived on December 27 we were shocked to find our booking had been cancelled. According to Sanmark they had cancelled all Expedia bookings (since they said no one who booked on Expedia were showing up) however we were never notified. Apparently Expedia was suppose to notify but they did not. We expected the Sanmark to help us in our situation (which they eventually did) but there initial reaction was to bad, so sad, not our problem. The security guard was tailing me around as if I was going to nick the silverware and the manager basically just wanted to justify there position ... they spent most of the time attempting to explain that they were without fault and really just wanted us to walk out without any place to stay. Most of there time was spent explaining the we had been notified and they were without fault.
