This is a great hotel in an old building with newly renovated rooms. I'm a touring musician working long hours so I need privacy, a clean room with a desk, good quality wifi, transportation links, and friendly and helpful staff. This is exactly what I got!.

The room was pleasant, with a large shower and bathroom, but no bidet. Warm and well-heated in the winter. They have a restaurant that is available for lunch and dinner, but pricey. A freshly made croissant or pain au chocolat can be bought at the bakery across the street for 2 euros. The hotel does not provide breakfast. You can also find a tea room across the street, which serves breakfast and lunch at great prices and a wide variety. The bed sheets are the only problem I have with this hotel. The top sheet is integrated into the comforter edredon and too short. The sheets are placed at waist height and not long enough to wrap at the bottom under the mattress, so your feet are uncovered. A very strange and quite uncomfortable method of making a bed. To compensate, we had to add a second comforter on top, which made it a bit heavier.

This restaurant is fantastic. Afterlauberge de union a cans is their second restaurant! Both locations have the same menu, but some waiters are the same! Each day we've added another menu to the bistro-type. Yesterday it was pork with mustard sauce, gratin dauphinois, and vegetables, but my husband and I had filet de boeuf with a fantastic ginger sauce, rice, and vegetables, and not to mention my favorite dessert boeuf a la beige.

The submerge is located in the center of the village on the Via Jacob hiking route that crosses Switzerland. It is across from the chateau de ranging which houses the Swiss national museum. The submerges has a few spacious, clean and modernized rooms above an excellent restaurant. Breakfast was basic but to be expected in a small hotel. Excellent value overall.

This hotel is located far from the city center, however, with well connected bus routes, you can enjoy the peaceful neighborhood surrounding you, the beautiful view of Geneva lake just a short walk away, and the historical chateau de ranging after finishing your daily activities. The staff here are friendly and fluent in English. I have always enjoyed my stay here.
