At first I was a little skeptical as this hotel is self-check in and I was concerned about accessing my room however I was pleasantly surprised and very happy that I selected Giessen Hotel and Coffeehouse! There were easy to use directions to check in and the ability to self code a key or more was super easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The best part was breakfast! It was by far the most enjoyable breakfast experience we have had in our travels. The Coffeehouse assigned our table by room number so finding a space was not a problem. The self select menu was perfect and allowed for as much food as you could eat. After you make your breakfast selections, give the list to the staff and they take over. The service was quick and the food was fresh and delicious! The coffee was wonderful and I highly recommend the Ginger Lemon shots! The hotel is also centrally located so getting to the the surrounding sites was also very easy! I highly recommend a stay at the Giessen Hotel and Coffeehouse.

Lovely, quiet and very clean, we loved this hotel. The coffee house breakfast was great (very nice people) and the view to the cathedral and castle were so very nice. We also loved the trail into town along the stream.

The check in and out process was easy and quick. The hotel was located near the center of town and was a short walk to the sights. You could also grab the bus nearby. The room was decent sized and comfortable. Water could’ve been hotter in the shower. Also, I asked if it’s easy to grab a taxi or uber from the train station to the hotel and they were like “we don’t know/have this info.” This seems like a basic thing for a hotel to know.

Staff is warm, friendly. Owner is there all day, every day ( at least for the 5 nights we stayed). Rooms are smaller than some - but who cares, youre just sleeping there anyway. Very quiet neighborhood. And the vibe (locals and guests) around the coffee shop part is awesome. We would go back.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. An introverts dream and the rooms are tidy. The check-in process is completely seamless and requires no interaction with any staff. The internet is superb and the breakfast is really cute.

We arrived to find the check-in system malfunctioning, which continued for many hours. But the manager was there helping everyone get checked in. In the middle of the craziness, she helped everyone and made it a very pleasant experience. This general theme continued for our time there. The room is great and comfortable with the good linens. The breakfast is excellent. Will return next time. I’m in the area.
