My company decided to hold our extended team's annual retreat at the hotel sterner, partly so that we could also take a trip to the mountain peak of chaserrugg, partly to be able to engage in group activities in the surrounding area, and partly to advance the area's tourism and economic development. The hotel sterner is a wonderful historic historic hotel. It is a nice old hotel, but it is in an area of oh that is just a little too near to major cities. Meaning less people stay overnight and many return home at the end of the day. This is unfortunate because this area is very lovely and tourism there and the surrounding area could use a boost. We opted the hotel since it could easily accommodate our group of over 50. Some rooms have recently been renovated to modern decor standards,.. However, many other rooms are still in the style of the woods. Although all the rooms are clean and well-kept, the older ones are certainly more historic than those you might find elsewhere. Our group used both the meeting and seminar rooms on one of the two days and everything was in good condition. The provided projectors and equipment were all excellent, and the setting and management of event logistics went flawlessly. The management, staff, and servers were all wonderful and friendly, and we were greatly appreciative of the efforts made to make our visit and our team meeting successful. In conclusion

The location is convenient as a starting point for hiking in the region. Within 10 minutes of the hotel, there is a waterfall, and the mountain ridge with a variety of trails is accessible from the hotel location. There is also a public bus stop very close by. The staff is very polite and accommodating. We had a magnificent view in a double room. Although somewhat antiquated, the room was very tidy and pleasant. Most public spaces and the room have wifi. Breakfast was simple continental breakfast, nothing special.

Even if you aren't staying here, the Hotelsterner restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Their dinner menu, which is served from 18.00 to 19.00, offers fantastic options at reasonable prices. The entrecote was beautifully prepared and served with a huge portion of delicious salad. The dessert menu is fairly simple, but ice cream is always a good option on a sunny summer evening.

The location was perfect, with both the coop and the bus station close by for picnics. All in all, a great place to stay and very convenient. 12 hikers from 1 to 12 used this hotel as our base for a week. The rooms were very nice, and the manager was very helpful. He even moved breakfast to a later date to avoid having to rush to get on the bus at 830. Our evening meals are hearty and generous, not a place for vegetarians or picky eaters. English is more suitable than french here.

We were in a family room that was very spacious and comfortable. For a family with small kids, the bathroom was a bit small but sufficient. The beds were comfortable, and free wifi is great and no complicated loins. The view from the room up the mountain is beautiful. The package included breakfast and supper. Since we were there during the beginning of the season, there were a few very minor startup problems, but nothing really bothering us. There are a variety of local dishes that all taste very fresh. Dinner was tastefully served and the service was perfect. I think the hotel could use an interior makeover, especially in the lobby, which was a little dark and old. The village itself was small and pittoresk. Looking back, I think we would come here again, as the price was very well in line with the quality and average prices in Switzerland.
