I visited the mountain and it was a magic mountain. Walking through majestic forests and feeling the warmth of a welcoming hotel is truly a journey through time. They also ate and provided drink for the guests, which I found to be extremely tasty. I hope I have the opportunity to see the hotel from the inside during my next visit.

Overall, we are happy with our stay in this century old building, mainly because of it's location near a ski slope. Although some partial renovations are believed to have been carried out from time to time, a large portion of this 120 year old building remained untouched. There are many preserved modern appliances from the era, including two original elevators that still function extremely effectively. Many of the shortcomings of this partly ruinous structure were compensated for by the elegance of the dining hall, the roomy lounge with a big fire place and floor-to-ceiling windows, and the terrace bar facing south with a panorama view of Davos.

I stayed for 5 days on a vacation in the snow. The hotel is nicely situated above Davos and is only accessible via private cablecar. When you come, you are reminded of a movie scene where you may write the script. The whole atmosphere is one you will never forget, it's like going back in time when only the fortunate few went on vacation. The hotel is beautiful and very elegant. Wood, marble, and stone. Jugendstil touches. The food is good, the staff is friendly and helpful. You can sled down every night on a private lighted sled course, and there is a great slope ski lift included in the hotel stay on the back of the hotel. Some things are older, but that makes the hotel even better. I prefer things done with craft and nice materials than plastic great. I've seen reviews of people who made pictures of faded paint or stain on the carpet. I think the hotel was older than they expected and other silly bla. It's like not admiring a nice lady, but simply concentrating on a pimple. If you like character and elegance and a unique hotel, you should stay here. There are many other hotel chains that cater to that mediocre middle class so called luxury. I'll be back at the hotel Schatzalp, I had a good time!.

This is a true gem. There is exceptional architecture and location, as well as excellent employees. The hotel rooms are all unique and none of which I find to be a drawback! historic furniture, lovely balconies I recommend upgrading to face the valley. Feeling really at home here and warmly recommend this place.
