I paid more for a view of the lake, not sure it was worth it, but it's a beautiful view! There isn't a balcony, but there is a terrace bar on the ground floor. If you don't have heavy luggage, discover the pathway through the underground parking lot and the escalator up to street level. The staff is friendly and checking is easy. The room overall appeared to be a little jaded, but the bathroom had a digitally controlled hitech shower, something I had never seen before. Contrast that with only 2 pillows in the room, and housekeeping was unable to add more until the next day. This created a less than comfortable night, even though the room was very quiet. Nice to have numerous English channels. Breakfast was somewhat disappointing, with very basic bread, cheese, ham, eggs, cereal, and fruit. Expected a little more for the money. There are hot drinks in the room, but no coffee sachets, just 2 tea bags. Interesting old building in a great location for walking or climbing into the mountains but I think he just missed the mark.

We had a wonderful stay at a reasonable price, overall. The motel is simple to find and we were greeted warmly and welcomingly when we arrived. The motel is tastefully decorated, warm, and pleasant. Our room was comfy, clean, tidy, and nicely decorated. The towels were big and cozy! We thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience, with a great selection of delicious dishes, and the views over the lake were excellent. The employees were extremely cordial, helpful, and professional. Breakfast was of high quality and plentiful. There was a game room and lounge, all clean, elegantly decorated, and nicely furnished.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in the offseason in early October and enjoyed our stay very much. First of all, we were stuck by it's incredible view. Moritzee the local lake and surrounding mountains from our room, which was large enough to provide a few comfortable chairs and a small table in addition to a fullsize bed. The bed itself was comfortable, but our advice to the hotel is that they provide some extra pillows or such so that sitting in the bed can be more comfortable. The wooden headboard had a ridge that dug into our backs. Breakfast was great, served on the floor below the main door. The room is elegant and the view of the lake is beautiful. The choice was large. It was a bit too loud for our taste but it didn't match the elegant decor. No music is fine classical music or jazz softly played, however, it is fine. The wait staff was very nice most seemed comfortable speaking Italian or English and German, but we would have been more comfortable if they had worn face masks. One of the great benefits of traveling outside the winter is that if one stays several nights, the hotel provides transportation passes to guests which are valid on all local buses, as well as on several funicula and cable cars that transport people uphill in the surrounding hills and mountains. This hotel is a great option if you like character and charm. The owner is quite hospitable and loves sharing the history of the zoo bar and the famous shuttlecock club. The zoo bar terrace has an incredible view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The food at the restaurant is very amazing.

Soldanella is a charming old hotel that retains a lot of the old world charm that many places do in it. The merit appears to have faded. At least, it is conveniently located in the town for summer vacations and offers unbeatable views from the bar and some of the rooms. The hotel is decorated in keeping with its past, but all furnishings and amenities are well-kept and tidy. The rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious. The staff is kind and helpful. The bar is charming and rich in history, and the restaurant serves excellent classical Swiss cuisine. The lake view rooms are very highly suggested. We stayed in rooms on the upper floor with a view of the lake, and one could spend hours looking at the scenery and the surroundings below.
