Absolutely loved our stay at Ndame Paje Hotel! The room was spotlessly clean with a beautiful beach view. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is stunning. Staff were friendly and the restaurant food was very good! Jozani National Park is conveniently close for a day trip. Perfect peaceful spot right on Paje Beach. Highly recommended!

The food was amazing, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. A perfect place to relax, I’d definitely come back

Staying at this charming budget hotel in Paje was truly a special experience. Perfectly located right on the beachfront, it offers stunning sea views that make every moment feel relaxing and memorable. The comfortable sunbeds are ideal for soaking up the sun and fully embracing the island vibe. What sets this place apart is its attention to detail and authentic local character. The furniture, crafted from reclaimed dhow boat wood, adds a unique coastal charm, while the décor—featuring locally produced pieces from Zanzibar—celebrates the island’s culture in a tasteful and natural way. Even the beach robes made from colorful kitenge fabric reflect a thoughtful touch, promoting African heritage in every detail. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, always smiling and ready to assist, making you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. The à la carte breakfast caters to all tastes, offering a variety of delicious options to start your day right. Ocean front views. They host Sunday parties with live DJ… the food is amazing. Big rooms, I like the rustic views. They also accepted an additional person in the room for an extra charge and extra bed and that was a plus

Good value for the price. Especially appreciated the security at the hotel, staff friendliness and the location. Prime location at the beach, very nice swimming pool/sun bed area. Would not recommend eating at the hotel, as the food was very poor. However, there are a number of good places to eat just a short walk from the hotel (Zanzibarista, Delight for pizza, Shanga). Over all, impressed with what we got for the price of the stay.

Läget var fantastiskt, lugnt och skönt, i den lugnare delen men ändå nära att kunna gå in mot ”stan”. Poolområdet var superfint med utsikt över havet. Alla var väldigt trevliga i personalen, framförallt restaurang- och poolpersonalen! Kunde absolut ta lite lång tid att få in beställningar, men det verkar det vara överlag i Zanzibar. Vad som var mindre bra tyvärr - städningen på rummen var kanske inte den bästa, det fylldes heller inte på med nytt när det tog slut (schampo och tvål), trots att vi påminde flertalet gånger. Wi-fiet fungerade inte i vårt rum (vissa andra rum fungerade det bra och andra inte pga räckvidden). Vår utcheckningsdag tog de även betalt för vår frukost och vi fick inte möjlighet att låna handdukar, även om vi sade att vi kunde betala för det för att duscha av oss innan hemfärd som var senare på kvällen. Allt som allt - bra läge, fint hotell och poolområde, samt väldigt trevlig personal i restaurang och poolområde. Vad som var mindre bra var städning och småmissar, och att de inte var så tillmötesgående vår sista dag.

Établissement très bien situé en bord d’océan, proche du centre de PAJE, très beau, bien décoré et agencé, des chambres géniales, une piscine au top et une vue à couper le souffle! Pas grand chose à redire là-dessus. Par contre, l’hôtel est ouvert aux personnes extérieures, du coup, piscine bondée, transats inaccessibles pas de priorité aux clients. Le personnel du restaurant n’a pas l’air d’être formé au service. À peine installé, il faudrait déjà avoir choisi. Dès qu’un verre ou une assiette est vide, ils vous sautent dessus pour débarrasser. Parfois, l’assiette n’est même pas finie, qu’ils vous débarrassent la table. Le service de sécurité interdit aux locaux de passer devant l’hôtel à marrée haute, il les refoule ou doivent passer dans l’eau au risque de se noyer, je trouve cela pas du tout correct. Cerise sur le gâteau, le paiement des boissons et repas à la fin du séjour! Ils nous volent littéralement, ils convertissent votre addition au taux de change qui les arrange, sans tenir compte du taux officiel, résultat + 10 $ sur la note. Le responsable, antipathique, impose ce change en disant que c’est pareil ailleurs. Ils s’en foutent royalement. Rien que pour ça, je ne recommande pas cet hôtel. Vous pouvez dépenser votre argent dans un lieu tout aussi joli avec plus de valeur. On sent m bien qu’au Ndame ils n’en n’ont que pour le argent. Un conseil, passé votre chemin.

Our stay at Ndame Paje Hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. Even though the facilities themselves were actually quite nice, the room we were given was far below what we expected. It almost felt like there was mold in the room, and the walls and the area around the doors seemed damp, which created a raw, unpleasant smell. The first night was the worst part. There were insects on the floor and in the bed, and several of them crawled over me while I was sleeping. I woke up multiple times throughout the night and barely slept at all. It’s an extremely uncomfortable experience when you can’t even relax in your own bed, and it caused a lot of stress — especially since this was the beginning of our holiday. The next day, we informed the reception and asked to change rooms, but they had nothing available. We ended up contacting Hotels.com, who thankfully moved us to another hotel just four minutes down the same street. That place had none of these issues, and we were finally able to relax and get proper sleep. The food at Ndame wasn’t great either, and the service was generally poor, although a few staff members were friendly and did their best. To be honest, this experience did affect our holiday in a negative way. Because of all this, I unfortunately can’t recommend Ndame Paje Hotel, especially when there are much better options just nearby.
