One quickly realizes that this will be a homestay with a difference, and to sum it up how we felt about it, boontarn sanctuary is like a star luxury resort paired with warm and gracious care from the owners of this very welcoming homestay. We were housed in a corner room on the upper floor with windows leading out toward rice fields. Our room was perfect with the posted king bed and marble bathroom sorry for our sparse and poorly taken photographs. But the highlight of boontarn sanctuary is the owner of the house. She followed up to make sure we had the right directions to boontarn sanctuary. Yes, she and her family live in another beautiful wooden house on the same property. We were also introduced to Shan sang tien, her bangkok-based son who is also a successful chef his pork khan tom porridge is fantastic. The breakfast is prepared to order and served at a predetermined time in the separate room that overlooks the sanctuary's lovely garden. We were sad to leave, but we were grateful and happy that Shan sang tien made a friendly connection. We are hoping to spend some time here again soon! It is an immense challenge to run and maintain such a lovely and intricately constructed wood haven, and we wish Buntarn Sanctuary a successful year and long future! highly recommended.

Our time in Bali, Kyoto, and Shirakawago was most memorable, and we've stayed in a few historic wooden cottages. Those are now available in conjunction with Chiangmais Boontarn Sanctuary. The entire two-story house at Boontarn, which the proprietor had described as a homestay, was custom-built to house four bedrooms each floor. And on the upper floor, a hallway with lovely antique benjarong ceramic vases, paintings, and wooden chests was added. Our accommodation was excellent, thank goodness for the sparse and poorly taken pictures. Despite the sumptuous surroundings, the large house immediately felt wonderful peace and calm. For the owner, shun sang tien is, however, the highlight of Boontarn Sanctuary. She made sure that we had the correct directions to go to the boontarn sanctuary in what is essentially her wellappointed estate home, and upon arrival, made us feel at home in what was essentially her wellappointed estate home. Yes, she and her family currently reside in another lovely wooden house on the same property. We were also introduced to shun joe, her son from Bangkok, who is also an accomplished chef. The specialized dining room overlooking the sanctuary lovely garden is prepared to order and served at a predetermined time. It's best to leave children and drunken parties at home
