We stayed in a riverside cabin for 9 nights and were thrilled with our choice. This is a budget guest house at a very affordable price, but it had what we needed. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom had a flush toilet and a hot water shower, and we also had a nice balcony literally on the riverfront because the cabins are on stilts.. Fortunately as a huge monitor lizard one day, he swam by! Mars Moon, the proprietor was really friendly and helpful, which added to our enjoyment. The bridge over the river kai is about a half hour walk or quicker on available scooter taxi rides. There are many restaurants nearby I'll review our favourite lab, and there is a laundromat and pharmacy literally at the entrance. For someone looking for a friendly and inexpensive place to stay, we cannot recommend this enough.

The guest house offers a variety of accommodations, including more contemporary concrete structures and wooden cottages tucked away by wooden piers in a peaceful tributary of the kai River. There are about four riverfront cottages in our hostel, and we were upgraded to one. The other is a little back, but still has a river view. Because its a lowcost guest house, we spent about 20 dollars per night and stayed three nights, so you cant anticipate any details. Although things are a little worn, it was clean enough, and the bed was the finest Ive ever experienced in Asia. Although we used our mosquito net, we had no problems with bugs, and we used our mosquito nets after several days of rain. One interesting feature was that the shower flushes straight into the river, and, although I'm not certain, I believe that the toilet flushes straight into the river. Despite this, there is a lot of wildlife, lots of birds, and one morning, we saw a four foot monitor lizard swim across the river. Its a 5-minute walk to bars, eateries, grocery stores, etc. It was quiet in spite of that and the fact that it was a holiday weekend, and we slept soundly. We enjoyed our stay here and plan to come again.

At a stopover in Kanchanaburi from Bangkok, we spent one night at Sam's Guest House. It had everything we required, including a cozy bed, shower towels, and toilet soaps with loo rolls. Because the guest houses are located far from the road, the rooms are spacious and clean. A very noisy bird squawked woke us up, but this isn't the guesthouse's fault. The staff here is very friendly. I believe spending more than a few nights here is overkill, but a one-night stopover is ideal.

For those seeking a welcoming and reasonably priced place to stay, we cannot express how much we value this place. We stayed in a riverside cabin here for nine nights and were delighted with our decision. Even though it is a fairly affordable guest house, it had all we required. The mattress was comfortable, the bathroom had a proper flushing toilet and a warm water shower, and it was spotless. Our balcony was directly on the riverfront because the cabins are up on stilts. We also had a lovely balcony, literally on the riverfront, because the cabins are up on stilts. Fortunately, one day, a huge monitor lizard splashed by as a result! The proprietor, Mars moon, was incredibly friendly and helpful, which enhanced our enjoyment. The bridge over the river Kai is about a halfhour stroll or faster with available scooter taxi rides. There are several restaurants nearby I'll review our favorite lab, and the first two stores are literally a laundromat and a pharmacy just outside the entryway. If you're looking for a friendly, affordable place to stay, we cannot speak highly enough of this.

We had a great time and would stay there again. We paid roughly 20 per night and stayed three nights, so expect nothing spectacular. Even though things are a bit worn out, the bed was the finest Ive had in Asia. The bed was the finest Ive ever had in Asia, and it was tidy enough. We used our mosquito nets, but after a lot of recent rainfall, insects were not a problem. The shower flushes directly into the river, which was a minor embarrassing aspect, and I think, although not entirely sure, that the toilet flushes into the river! Despite that, there is plenty of wildlife, lots of birds, and one morning we watched a fourfoot monitor lizard swim across the river. The pubs, restaurants, supermarkets, and other attractions are only a 5-minute walk away. Although it was a holiday weekend, it seemed peaceful, with many spare rooms, and we slept soundly.

Nice accommodation in the very middle of the kanchanaburi ‘Strip’, lovely riverside setting and friendly staff. Taxis available outside pretty much 24/7 with both the bus and train station a short 5 minute taxi away. Only problem was there is next to no noise insulation so you can hear next door very easily and on the weekend when we stayed on friday and saturday there is VERY loud music from 16:00-12:30 which the bass shakes the rooms. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay!

Decent hotel with a range of room types right off of the main tourist strip. The riverside bungalows were atmospheric, though not luxurious. A good choice for those on a budget.

We only stayed one night. It's not a bad place but it's very basic. The rooms are little huts right over the river which you get to via metal walkways. It's one of the more interesting places I've stayed but I don't think I'd have wanted to stay longer than we did. It's fairly easy to walk to some local restaurants and places to drink and it was quiet.

Personeel bij de receptie was niet echt vriendelijk en heeft ons ook een extra nacht laten betalen,terwijl we deze zouden krijgen omdat we er langer verbleven. Op het laatste moment werden we tegen gehouden toen onze taxi er was en moesten we alsnog betalen. Taxi was al betaald en wilde niet te lang wachten, dus was snel verdiend... Het is gelegen in een gezellige straat met eten, drinken en bars. Kamer was voorzien van airco en koelkast.
