On a break from work in Bangkok, we stayed at the Mayan Resort for two nights. With little development around, it is a lovely location right on the river. We especially adored floating down the river from one end of the resort to the other. Overall, the visit was enjoyable and relaxing, however, the resort may need some renovation and a bit more careful management. I was informed that they have a new owner and have already begun this work. Great for swimming with a beautiful, natural setting right on the river. Food at the restaurant at sunset. Rafting before dinner still needs some work, and the electricity and wifi are unreliable. The swimming pool itself isn't really much of a spa, however, it's good for swimming.

The staff here are also very helpful and pleasant. Plus, the place has a great calm vibe. Plus, the food here is good.

Overall, it's fine for a night. Breakfast consisted of selfservice coffee fried eggs, hamnes, and coffee. This is more of a backpacking experience, but it's not inexpensive for the area. Paid more than thb 2, 00 for a riverfront twin bed, and the air conditioning was excellent. However, the toilet door didn't close properly and was too noisy to open, which meant being awakened. Dogcats wander around at night looking for food and can bother you if you're lying outside in the hammock. If you have sensitive to the wood smoke, which is almost completely splatters this area and makes your clothes smell, stay away from this trip in February. No mosquitos, but all things considered it is adequate for a night.
