Maroon Tomtom is an excellent choice. The hotel is modern. The furniture and bedding are new. The staff is very attentive to details and responds to requests immediately. They changed our room as soon as I told them the hairdryer isn’t working. Cleaning happens daily along with changing towels & refilling hair&body care bottles. Tomtom is apparently a sister hotel to Maroon Pera where breakfast is served. It is good enough. Yet, same menu daily. Location wise, Tomtom is exactly in the middle of Istiklal street, and away 2mins walking to the metro & bus station through one of the side streets after the hotel. Very convenient for shopping & close to different transportation methods. I recommend not following the brochures provided at the reception (one of the receptionists in Pera) to restaurants as they are unfairly overpriced. I really dislike this misguidance. It is important to note that pictures are exactly the same yet on 0.5zoom. The rooms are small and so is the lobby.

Marin Bottom Hotel is located in the heart of Istanbul on Istelal street. The galaxy bridge is a minute's walk away, and there are two Metro stations Ship Shape and Takami nearby. The hotel is in an ancient structure, with an elevator, a new renovation, new equipment, and friendly employees. These are its positive aspects. The rooms are small, the floor is concrete, and the noise is low. If you stay here, reserve a courtyard room. You can't fall asleep from the noise if you reserve a room with a street view. A nightclub is located across the hotel entrance. I was given such a room, but a day later, the receptionist changed my room to a quieter room. I appreciate the staff for helping me.

Overall, excellent value for the money! It appears that some people nowadays are unable to give more rounded evaluations and instead focus on one issue and award a building one star. That is just unfair. My time at Maroon Bottom was excellent despite some of the poor ratings. The hotel is conveniently situated on istikal's busy pedestrian street, which causes some noise, but I didn't hear anything with earplugs and am extremely sensitive to noise. Additionally, other guests slammed doors, so yes, maybe soundproofing could be better. But this isn't a place to meditate or compose poetry. Its a hotel in one of istanbul's most popular districts. Anyway, the staff was really friendly and promptly fixed an issue with the door lock that I had upon check-in. Another employee assisted me in figuring out where to take a taxi, where to buy an umbrella, etc. The room was small but useful. There was even room to put a yoga mat in front of the bed if you wanted to. Lots of spot lights etc. The only thing that didn't function was the mini-fridge, but you don't really need one in that area of istanbul, there is fresh food right around the corner. The room even had a narrow desk on the other side, and I got some laptop work done. This is
