We had a wonderful stay at the Pera Palace. The sense of history is remarkable, and from the moment you arrive, the hotel exudes timeless elegance. While some may describe it as having an “old” feel, we found it to be more of a refined, classic charm—rich in character rather than dated. We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the Bosphorus. The views were truly stunning, especially at sunset and into the evening, when the city takes on a magical atmosphere. The Orient Bar is an absolute must, and the tea room is equally exceptional—both experiences that beautifully reflect the hotel’s heritage and sophistication. Although we spent a few nights in the Sultanahmet area, we found the Pera Palace’s location on the Galata side to be far more appealing, with easy access to excellent restaurants and vibrant nightlife. Without question, this will be our hotel of choice on our next visit to Istanbul.

The hotel is at great location and has hosted many famous people. I truly enjoy the decorations and collections of the history. The setting brings an old world charm. The room is clean and I was welcomed with fruits and cookies. Pillows are too high and I wish there was low pillow choice. The breakfast is good and has a variety of choices. Pleasant. Staff is helpful and answers our requests promptly. The Internet is a bit challenging to connect (quite slow to connect and some of friends stayed in other rooms were not successful to use the internet). I wish staff would smile to us. Although they answered every requests professionally and effectively, none except one had smile on their faces. I guess they perhaps were overwhelmed with the guests and workload. I do hope they enjoyed working there because they are very well trained. But from their face I cannot feel much of heartily welcome. My friend stayed at this hotel last year and said staff seemed more friendly. Anyway, I had a good stay overall and it concluded my journey in Istanbul with fond memories.

The hotel was fabulous - we got a free upgrade as an Expedia VIP to a suite, which was wonderful. The room was very modern - with great bathroom. The steam room, sauna and pool were great amenities. I’d definitely recommend getting the breakfast which was excellent. The staff were very friendly and gave us a ride in the historic elevator - they really made the trip while, it is a great hotel!

A Truly Unforgettable Experience at Pera Palas Hotel, Istanbul My stay at Pera Palas Hotel was one of the most relaxing and exquisite experiences I’ve had. The hotel blends beauty, history, and the finest Turkish hospitality. Every detail is thoughtfully considered. Our three days were made even more special by the wonderful staff. From Esma Hanım, who showed us Atatürk's room, Agatha Christie’s room, and the famous lift from 1892, to Erdal, Ergun, and Enes at reception, the service was impeccable. Bellboys Kemal and Baran made sure we were comfortable, and the staff remembered our tea and coffee preferences, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was exceptional, with so much to choose from that we couldn’t sample everything. The olives were especially delicious! Sergen, Gamze, Doğuhan, and Hanife made our mornings even more delightful. The bar and tea room offered a magnificent yet comfortable atmosphere, ideal for relaxation after a busy day. At the spa, Tarık Bey and the team at the Hamam gave us an unforgettable experience. My husband and I felt completely rejuvenated afterwards. The hotel’s location is also fantastic—perfect for exploring Istanbul. All in all, our stay was flawless, and we can't wait to return.
