We loved this hotel. The ladies at reception were welcoming and helpful, the bartender was friendly, and the breakfast team was great. Our room, the junior suite, was good value, comfortable and clean. We liked the decor, style, and history of the hotel. And we don't understand the negative comments about breakfast! Although a bit chaotic, ordering from a menu means ordering much less food waste when everything is prepared freshly. Yoghurt, fruit salad, toast, an omelet or eggs, juices, pancakes, sausages, cheese, ham. What more do you need? Wish we could have stayed longer. Don't change nationally, youre perfect as you are.

This hotel is very important if you want to go to the soviet nuclear shelter, the hotel is worth the price because of the quality of the service. The room is spacious, comfortable, has hot water in the shower, good internet access, and mattresses nice, and the view of the parliament with floor and very central. The breakfast buffet is good but the coffee is not hot enough. The lobby bar is too quiet.

Hotel in the traditional Soviet style, a huge, intimidating structure with rooms and high ceilings. Overall, the hotel is clean and offers good value for money. Breakfast is not excellent and the selection is very limited. Good location, very close to Independence Square, the center of the city, the National Treasure Museum, parliament, and many other attractions. Everything about the hotel is important. There is nothing wrong with the hotel. The personnel lack a bit of personality, there are no big smiles to greet you, and any questions are answered in one word sentences.

I have stayed in National twice over the course of approximately 5 days. A decent and clean hotel in a luxurious communist style. It has a great location in the center of Kiev. Main street Khreschatyk is only a 5 minute walk away. Be prepared not to have great service at this hotel, the staff doesn't always speak English and it's strictly forbidden for them to smile or be friendly to guests, some even appear furious. I would recommend this hotel, it's a great value for money.
