Our favourite place to stay when visiting London as a family. Only a few minutes walk to several museums including the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum, and only a few minutes walk from South Kensington underground station. Kind and welcoming staff, use of kitchen and dining room all day, including a microwave and kettle, plates, cups, cutlery, etc. Clean and tidy. A big thank you to all the staff for welcoming us again! Steve

We were 11 Girl Scouts on a European adventure. The area for this hotel was amazing. It was so easy to walk to the South Kensington underground station. There were so many wonderful cafes nearby. The hotel itself advertises that it has WiFi but it didn’t work most of the time. When it did work it was only in the lobby. The rooms were good size. The bathrooms are on different levels and you must be able to climb stairs. The communal kitchen was very dirty and when we went to use it all the dishes and pans had to be cleaned first. We would stay in the area again but not at this hotel.

Al llegar a la recepción para el check-in, tuvimos que esperar más de una hora frente a un cartel que ponía ‘vuelvo en 10 minutos’. Nosotros entrábamos, pero había gente que esperaba para poder coger sus maletas guardadas e irse corriendo al aeropuerto. El check-in fue rápido: rellenamos un formulario con datos de contacto, dejamos 20 libras de depósito y nos dieron la llave. Nuestra habitación se ofertaba como ‘Habitación triple con camas dobles’. Al entrar vimos que se componía de una habitación con una litera y una cama adjunta, todas individuales, máximo 100 cm de ancho. Los colchones tenían unos muelles que hasta sobresalían de la tela, incomodísimos. Se apreciaba todo limpio, pero la decoración era bastante grotesca. Teníamos una mesa de escritorio cortada por la mitad en medio de la habitación que dificultaba el paso (la habitación tenía dos metros y medio de ancho) y un lavabo al fondo, cerca de la ventana junto a una mesita de noche. El ventanal daba a la calle principal. Tenía un blackout que tapaba media ventana y dejaba pasar toda la luz y claridad desde las 6 AM. A demás, tenía un agujero de ventilación que helaba la habitación y era imposible de tapar. Las ventanas estaban selladas y no se pueden de abrir. La sala de desayuno era un comedor con mesas de alguna subasta de caridad y para desayunar ponen tostadas de pan, mermelada, mantequilla, té negro, chocolate y café soluble. Los baños bastante fríos y todos con ducha. La conexión del wifi es malísima.

Прекрасная локация:все популярные музеи рядом, метро, в пешей доступности набережная с ее основными достопримечательностями. Сам хостел расположен в очень старом (на красивой улочке) здании. Обслуживание приятное, работники стараются (возможно, чтоб скрасить весь дискомфорт от проживания). Внутри все старое, ремонта не было лет 50. Завтраки символические: только «сухой корм», тосты, чай, растворимый кофе/какао и джемы.Туалеты, душевые более-менее, на верхнем этаже -минимальный напор воды. Самое страшное было то, что во всех номерах-клопы. Мы были искусаны ими, Вообщем, еле унесли ноги.

Hostel was functional but very, very old and hot/stuffy. Internet was inconsistent. No problems with access to bathrooms nor water pressure/heat (as some complained about). Breakfast is simply toast or choice between 2 cereals - but appreciated. Location was excellent and making own meals in shared kitchen was easy - but bring your own cutlery. Beware the beds as, like with many hotels in the world, there are bed bugs.
