This hotel has recently changed hands and has been refurbished throughout to a good standard. The staff were excellent - friendly and very helpful. The location is really convenient for the beach (which is directly opposite) Devonshire Park Tennis, theatres and Winter Garden - all just a short walk away. Several good restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!

Wonderful hotel and very convenient. Good welcome when I arrived at the hotel. I was able to check in early. The room was clean and comfortable. It was a hot day so the window had been left ajar to let in a breeze. Toiletries in the bathroom were provided. I am vegetarian and I mentioned this when I checked in and vegetarian sausages had been bought for me. The hotel is next to the beech. Walkable for train station and the town centre so very convenient. I would recommend staying here and I would stay again.

Another stay at Alexander!,a great find in Eastbourne, all facilities not fully opened yet!but rooms excellent, receptionists great service!when its fully up and running?definitely top place on Eastbourne seafront!

Great stay!fantastic refurbishment of Alexander Hotel that others along Eastbourne front should follow!outstanding decor and when fully finished!Will be a great addition to Eastbourne!brilliant, as owners have kept some of the old features,,etc which adds a touch of class to decor!

The hotel is a beautiful old building with some orignal features but needs some updates.. the staff are excellant and friendly.. i woukd recommend the hotel for the staff alone... excellent

Very nice staff, shower could have been a little faster running, although used to new power showers now and would have liked a fridge for milk. view was very good from the seaview room nice room overall had a hair dryer and a bible and books and games down stairs to play/ read. Near the lifeboat shop

Winston , GM, is ace! He is most welcoming, treats each guest as they are a VIP and makes sure we feel special. Entertainment, food, bar, lounge to read a book, relax, meet interesting people/ guests. The seafront is right outside the door and a beautiful ocean view. All the amenities you need are provided in your room. Nice staff that are on their toes and pleasant with a smile. Back to Winston, heart of gold, extremely hard worker, the best! When I told the cabbie on the way to the train station what we felt about Windston, he said lots of guests and people say the same, great guy. Thank you!

Lovely room, spotlessly clean with a sea view and kind, helpful staff. Perfect location on the seafront, best views from the hotel restaurant and easy walk to town centre or station. Staff extremely helpful and go out of their way to ensure your stay is what is needed. Nothing not to like!
