I had to spend one night in Manchester on my way to Leeds, and this hotel in the city centre is just a short walk from the railway and bus station. The old building could do with some (a lot) maintenance, but the staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and considering the price, the breakfast was nice. This hotel has received som bad reviews, which I find strange, considering the low price you pay for a room with breakfast, in the middle of the city centre. I will definitely stay here again next time I need to spend a day or two in Manchester.

I had a pleasant stay at Britannia Hotels in Manchester. The staff were friendly, the location was convenient, and it offered good value for the price.

The staff were very polite, helpful and professional. The room was clean and tidy There was tea and coffee making facilities, TV, oscillating fan and open wardrobe. We booked a breakfast which was more than adequate and this was served in the downstairs area, which was very clean and remained in keeping with the hotel style and decoration. During our stay we used the left luggage facility which was secure and safe. We were provided with a tag for luggage and a corresponding tag for security checking on collection. The hotel and room were very suitable for our overnight stay and we had no complaints. The hotel is very central and approximately 5-10 mins walk from the train station The price for a twin room and breakfast were exceptional value and l would definitely use this hotel again

Clean room, staff helped when the card key was not working or I thought I left my card key in my room. Location was central to bars, food outlets and 10 minutes walk from Piccadilly trainstation. Lifts were slightly tempermental going past your floor going down other then that worth its money to stay

great location. really close to tram and bus stops, piccadilly station, shopping and restaurants. check-in counter needs to be upgraded(a plexiglass barrier?). but the rooms clean and spacious. staff friendly and helpful. the hotel itself is historic /interesting.would stay again.

The room was clean and spacious with 2 double beds, and the bathroom was also nice! Breakfast was very good in the morning My whole stay from check in til check out was nice & smooth. No issues with anything or anyone. Most bad reviews of this place are either outdated or just overexxagerated stories/lies Will definitely return in the future if I have to :)
