Great staff experience: from checking-in (with George?), to the homemade breakfast each morning, to the responsive host via WhatsApp. If you are driving to York, I highly recommend this place because they have 10 free parking spots!

Parking space is provided for each room and given a 5-10 minute walk into York's Centre that is a real bonus. Staff were extremely helpful giving us tips on where to eat out as the hotel does not provide an evening meal service which is fine given the multitude of choices within a short walking distance. A good choice of cooked breakfasts were available. Rooms were clean and had character.

Wow, what an amazing little find! Wonderful hotel, within walking distance of the city centre and with parking! Fantastic staff, very warm and welcoming. Gorgeous boutique room that's spotless with a fantastic rainfall shower. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice and no request was too much. Had a lovely stay and well definitely return the next time we're in York.

I stayed in Room 12, the top floor apartment and it was fantastic. Everything I needed and more including tea, coffee, milk, chocolate and biscuits which was an unexpected touch! Great location, wonderful staff and all round a complete gem. I am already planning a return to York for pleasure rather than business and I’d certainly stay here again! Thank you!

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel with my family. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and always ready to help. The best part was the great location easy walking distance to main centre of York, close to restaurants, shopping, and local attractions. Breakfast was also fresh and delicious with a great choice for my fussy teenagers. Plus point is free parking at the hotel. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.”

Michael was very welcoming and helpful, as was George. Eclectic, warm and cozy furnishings, comfy bed, good shower, hearty fresh cooked breakfast. About 1/2 mile from the city center. Lovely, tree lined street with period homes. Not far from a little Sainsbury’s market, short taxi ride from the train station. We look forward to coming again in the future.

Burton Stone Inn was fantastic. Ideal base for anyone looking to explore the city. Not too far to walk from the Inn to the main attractions. Rooms were clean, fresh and welcoming. Staff were helpful and polite. We will definitely be returning!
