We had a wonderful four night stay at the Cairns Hotel. Bala was amazing at check in. It is an older hotel with character, in an excellent walking location from Waverly Train Station and the local bus is a minute walk up the street, would definitely recommend staying at the Caitns Hotel when in Edinburgh.

Great location - easy work to St James and Royal Mile. Was able to get street parking on a weekday. And our room across the road from the reception had lots of space and bunk beds which was lovely and unlike most old town Euro hotels

Simple one night stay in The Loft room 412. Perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. Clean and comfortable with hot water. Walking distance from attractions and near to a Wetherspoons for food including breakfast. 5 minute walk to Tesco express.

We arrived early and were able to check in to our room right away. Our room was a basement room, but very bright and spacious for two adults and a child. We could not fault the cleanliness either. Our room had an iron an ironing board as well the usual tea / coffee making facilities; and a tray with bottled water, packets of crisps and small packets of biscuits. We didn’t realise until check out that these were free, and were given the opportunity to go back and help ourselves (we hadn’t officially checked out at that point) We didn’t order breakfast because there were two picky eaters and it would have been a waste. When we checked out the following morning, we left 4 bags and a helium balloon for storage until nearer our journey home. When we returned nearer lunch time and sat in the bar / lounge area to eat our own lunches etc. Helen was really good with my granddaughter, chatting away to her and answering any questions she had. The manager, receptionist and Donna all chatted with her and asked about her mermaid doll. The Manager then asked if she wanted to use the walkie talkie to speak to all staff. My granddaughter said yes and was told to say “hello everyone”, to which Donna replied into her walkie talkie. This hotel is very close to Edinburgh Playhouse and tram stops too, making it an ideal place to stay when visiting Edinburgh - and the price we paid was very reasonable compared to a lot of the other places nearby. I’d definitely stay here again.

I used this as a base for moving out of my Ex's flat. It was a terrible experience to move out but the staff here was firendly, ameniable, understanding, and so so helpful. They cheered me on, and checked in with me whenever I would get back. My room was just what I needed, good lighting/good curtains when needed, bathroom was spacious considering Edinburgh and the shower pressure was amazing. This is a great comfortable, budget friendly place with a good breakfast and great location. Will be staying here again and highly recommend.

Il check in è stato veloce e la receptionist molto gentile. Nei dintorni ci sono molti parcheggi su strada. La camera ed il bagno erano molto confortevoli e puliti. La struttura si trova in una zona tranquilla e a circa 20 minuti a piedi dalla Royal Mile. In camera inoltre ho trovato te, biscotti, patatine ed acqua in omaggio. Consiglio molto questo hotel, eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo.

Spotless hotel, nice and close to shops (John Lewis 5 min walk) and restaurants. Nice touch to leave snacks for us, and shower gel provided. Would recommend and stay there again. Very Satisfied

This hotel was amazing! Perfect location, walking distance to downtown and the pice was perfect. Every other hotel nearby was nearly double the price and this hotel had a nice size room and bathroom.
