Hotel is fairly central (less than 10mins walk to the harbour) but there the remaining City Gate is at the end of Broad Street which makes for a nice quiet street for the hotel to be on (even with a bar opposite). Room was clean with plenty of tea bags and instant coffee (and Biscoffs!). Beds were comfy. All the staff I dealt with (which wasn't many) were friendly and helpful

Friendly and helpful, hardworking staff in all areas. After a long journey to Bristol, the reception staff allowed us to access our room a good hour or so earlier then expected. Thank you so much. Responded to our requests for extra milk sachets promptly too. Very spacious, spotlessly clean deluxe double room on the 3rd floor. Comfortable bed with lovely Irish toiletries, very large fluffy towels, bottles of water, replenished daily, good food choices, reasonably priced and good beer too. Our 1st visit to Bristol, won't be our last and would be very happy to stay here again due to the comfort and service received. Liked being in the Old City area with shops, bars, historic buildings close by.

Check-in machines were a bit irritating to use; skip these and speak to the staff on reception. Also the floor layout is unique to any other hotel I've been to - my room was on the fourth floor but it was actually quicker to get to it by going to the third floor and then taking the stairs! Excellent location and a very good breakfast. Would definitely consider staying here again when I'm next in Bristol.

This hotel is beautiful, clean, modern and the staff are so helpful & friendly . Our room was lovely , beds really comfy & air conditioned also, had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was amazing, so much choice . This hotel had thought of everything, even an ice machine on the hotels floors , it differs from other places I have stayed as I cannot find anything I would change & would highly recommend staying here .

We enjoyed our stay overall. There were just a couple of little things that could do with some attention. The main entrance door was hanging off when we arrived, and it was still the same throughout our stay, which doesn't create the best first impression. Aside from that, our room was lovely, and the breakfast was excellent – definitely one of the hotel's biggest strengths. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and very helpful. We would happily stay here again.

Great location near busy streets with food and drink options. Ideal for 18 of us on a cricket tour or anyone wanting a weekend socialising or shopping.
