Very nice hotel in a great spot in the middle of the old city. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. The room was not very big, but it was ok. Bathrobe and slippers were available - and you could get fresh milk for your coffee or tea from the reception. A great place to stay.

Wonderful hotel ideally located. Delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. We traveled from the U.S. and found the city to be fun and beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!

Stayed in the Guy Fawkes room overlooking the outside restaurant terrace. The room was small but efficient. Nice walk-in shower and bed was comfortable. A fan was available as it did not have air conditioning but it did not need it. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful and everything was fresh and local. The breakfast shots (orange juice, ginger, turmeric) was delicious.

Excellent hotel with the only snag being the noise at night but that should be expected given its location.

Convenient to park, restaurants, sites including York Minster and city walls. Handsomely furnished room; not large but comfortable. Good hotel restaurant.

I loved everything about Judges and would stay there again in a heartbeat! I stayed in a Character Double room. It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. The amenities are very well thought out and made me feel cared for (fluffy robe and slippers, washcloths, complimentary sparkling water and chocolates, quality bathroom products, and eye mask and earplugs - didn't need them because it was very quiet at night). The breakfast was outstanding! Full breakfast cooked upon order and the buffet with pastries, juices, etc. They start you off with a delicious fresh squeezed juice of orange, lemon, and ginger. Staff was all wonderful. Judges was my favorite hotel during my 2 week trip through the UK!

Wonderful old property. Breakfast was great. The hotel has beautiful features. The staircase inside is gorgeous. Lots of stairs so be prepared. The bar is fun and food good. Can’t beat the location if coming by train. Town is at your door, easily one of the most walkable location. Friendly welcoming staff.

Absolutely great room, breakfast was fantastic, and the lady host Aga was perfect and very friendly. We would recommend this hotel A word of warning do not confuse this hotel with judges court, they are not the same. We look forward to returning.
