The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. They were friendly and welcoming. I went out on business trip alone. They made me feel at ease. The food is delicious. I slept like a baby each night.

We passed this pub on the way to walk safely pike and saw the beautiful beer garden on the river so decided to call in after our walk. The owner couldn't have been more friendly, after we asked if they were serving food he immediately went to check that the kitchen could manage and said they could. The menu wasn't large but excellent, reasonable priced, home cooked food pie, chips and peas 1095. We sat in the beer garden, which was lovely and relaxing. My husband and son then went to play pool and the owner went to get his own cue for our son to use, which was a lovely touch. We didn't stay over, but I spoke with a couple who said it was so friendly that it felt like a home from home. We will definitely return.

It was fantastic with this meal, it combines delicious lamb shanks with a world-class king prawn curry. The weather was beautiful and the hosts are great. I came for my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary. Debbie and Yvonne the staff are helpful and friendly. This is a great four-night vacation.

Very lovely evening with drinks in a gorgeous beer garden and a hearty meal at the bar. Very comfortable and clean place with a dog who was made to feel at home with lots of treats.

This place is recommended because of the excellent location. There is a beautiful beer garden with a river nearby. I have never stayed here, but the downstairs bar area is in dire need of improvement. We usually stop here on our way back from the wastewater treatment plant or Skdale. I have never had dinner here, but the food looks quite good.
