Weve always lived close to the how, but rarely ever. We're a family of four, two adults, two children, and we chose the chestnuts as our lodging for a three-night stay. The proprietors, nick and hayley, welcomed us right away when we walked through the door and gave us a hearty welcome. The actual two interconnected rooms in the room were now a family suite. In one chamber, we had a double bed, and the children had bunk beds in the other, both of which they enjoyed, and the setting worked admirably. Although the main room and bathroom were small, we had everything we needed and they were tidy and of a good standard. It was wonderful to have pleasant touches such as a beverage tray and daily replenishment of food purchases. The be is only a short walk, maybe 10 minutes, down hill to Franklin beach, so we went down there to eat dinner and the children loved going to the arcade. Breakfast at the chestnuts was delightful, and if you order the night before, it is delivered quickly at your chosen time in the dining room. Apart from ourselves, there were only a few other visitors out there, so we couldn't comment on how it is managed during busy times, but it seems they have the greatest system in place to make it work correctly. Hotel location is strategic, just walking distance from the seafront, main town and old town and easy to get by train and bus. The breakfast is served, and the accommodation is clean. I felt comfortable and at ease.

I highly recommend this place. Nice friendly girl, nice clean room, and wonderful English breakfast that's always served hot, we were in a ground floor room with a comfy queenie bed. The hotel location is near the French beach, about a 40-minute walk from sunrise. Very accommodating friendliness from Nick and Ashley.

Very clean, I would recommend this to anyone. I just got back from a short stay at the chestnuts. Great location, only a short walk to the seafront and also the town. Breakfast is very good, with a good choice of cereal, juice, toast, and a hot cooked breakfast depending on what you wanted. Breakfast was always very well cooked and served hot. Hayley and nick were very accommodating and perfectly happy to refill our room with more tea bags and kickass as needed! Despite having to get up early to cook breakfasts, hayley and nick were always available to join us in the bar in the evenings for a quiet drink and a chat. Be exceptionally clean. Norman Angela.

Our room on the ground floor was good and had a very good shower room. The only thing we would have liked a few more coat hangers but it is not so important. Paul and Tanya.
