I stayed here on the bank holiday in august. The personnel was kind and helpful. the cleanliness was very good. Ordering by round app and table service is provided. The food was also amazing. The best scampi I've had in a long time. Lots of it for a great price. I appreciate you making us feel welcomed on a cold, wet night.

We visited here for lunch a couple of weeks ago. We called the previous hour and they were able to fit us in. When we arrived it was busy but organized. Orders for drinks were taken and shown to our table. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. The meal itself was delicious and plenty of it. Decided to go back two weeks later with our son. Again busy but well-staffed. The meal didn't disappoint. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to seek genuine good food in a good pub! Thank you 1010 for the excellent service.

I want a dogfriendly pub for lunch, and I tried to decide. Lord Nelson answered my phone with a 30 second answer. He also confirmed that they could accommodate us and our dog. He also made us have a nice day dinner with some drinks. The employee was very attentive and did his best to give the best service. We have a great experience on our walk back. Richard suggested a more pleasant walk after we walked the pub. He was right and the walk home was a pleasant experience.

I recently returned from a three night stay with friends at the lord nelson inn in Besthorpe, what a wonderful find it was. When we arrived, a warm greeting from owner Richard set the tone, and his entire staff was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Our rooms were reasonably priced, clean, and extremely comfy, and they were furnished in keeping with this lovely 200 year old hostelry. Breakfast was excellent, anything you wanted it to be, with a wide variety and was really everything you wanted it to be. We also went there every night and were not disappointed. A suitable portion of home-cooked dishes from a decent range were generously distributed and beautifully presented. Excellent! The bar's real ale and reasonably priced wine rounded off a delicious visit to the cozy restaurant with its gleaming log fire. Overall, with it's excellent food and drink and comfortable lodging, the lord nelson is a true treasure of a find, but richard and his team are the real stars, and they work tirelessly to create that warm and welcoming atmosphere. HIGHLY advisable.
