The McEwan was a great place to stay! Great location, close to walk to things and also near two main bus routes and the Haymarket Station. The apartment was clean and comfortable. I would note that it did not have any papertowels, dish soap, or sponge like other apartments provide. When we arrived there was no one at the front desk but they arrived shortly after. There was not much orientation beyond getting the keys and them leading us to the apartment. No information was given regarding the free wifi. When we visited the desk the next morning staff were extremely helpful! They answered our questions and even alerted us to a brush fire up by Holyrood. This apartment was great for families.

The rooms are spotless, but the corridor from the elevator to the rooms has an extremely unpleasant smell and suffocating - no ventilation making it stuffy. Extremely modern and nicest ever place - Kitchen was missing kitchen towels and wash cloth etc. Family friendly Safe and lots of shops nearby - grocery store and a cinema , shopping mall at an arm length

Check in was at 3:00; we arrived at 4:00. No one was at reception. We tried the adjacent building. All doors were locked. We waited more than an hour. Finally another guest called. Waited fifteen more minutes. We received keys and were taken to our room. We found pizza on the kitchen counter. In the bedrooms, beds were unmade. Towels all over the bathroom floors. The unit had clearly not been cleaned. When we left, we were promised a refund for the inconvenience. Ten days have passed and we are still waiting for the refund. This was disappointing to say the least, as a two-bedroom place would have been ideal.
