A unique opportunity to stay overnight in an pullman carriage. Excellent facilities within the room. Warm welcome and a brilliant breakfast. Well worth a visit

A very peaceful setting. You could barely here any traffic, just an owl for nighttime company. Everything was very clean and welcoming.The staff were relaxed and helpful. The carriages on arrival were warm and cosy. Toiletries provided. Tea and coffee, including a small cafetiere and corkscrew. The tea room is beautifully restored and very inviting with a real fire. Nice scones and coffee and a choice of breakfast in the morning. You definitely need a car here, whilst there is a short walk close by in a wooded area, this also shows you some of the history of the area. it wasn’t really safe to walk miles due to lack of footpaths on a busy road.

The Old Railway Station is an absolute gem, it’s almost like stepping back in time, we had the Station lower room, which was well equipped and very comfortable, but there are Pullman carriages also, we will try one of those next time! The breakfast was first class, a choice of continental or full English. A afternoon tea can be booked too, which looked lovely, the outside tables and chairs are on the “platform” overlooking a small well kept garden, a glass of wine in the sun was just the ticket! Well worth a visit, witch the Badgers pub a 1 min walk up the lane with good food you can’t go wrong!

This is an old Victorian railway station that was closed in 1966. It is a couple of miles south of the town so not an ideal location for travel then but perfect now for car drivers, just off the A285. The current owners have refurbished the main building and added a number of Pullman Railway Carriages. Accommodation is either in the station building or a carriage. The carriages are well equipped with a double bed and a bathroom/toilet/shower. Although the carriage is narrow, I've definitely had smaller bathrooms in traditional hotels! The facilities are of high standard and very clean. There is also full, and very effective central heating for chilly nights and a large fan in each carriage for those warm days. Breakfast is in the station building but room service is also available. There is currently no evening dining option, although at the far end of the platform they are refurbishing "Princess Ena" which is intended to be a dining car so things may change. Afternoon teas and drinks can be served at tables on the old platform which looks across the old track bed to a stunning garden. It's a lovely quirky option, close to Petworth House (NT) and a short drive from Chichester. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed staying in the Pullman carriage made a change from a normal hotel room . Lovely cream tea in the afternoon. Staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast filled me up for the rest of the day. Thanks .

A lovely setting all very authentic, stayed in one of the carriages, which was very well furnished and spotlessly clean. Big chairs round the log fire in the railway station itself. Superb breakfast. Would highly recommend and be happy to return.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Old Railway Station. The Pullman carriage was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean.Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well cooked and delivered at the time specified. We intend to book again in the summer so we can see the gardens and explore the lovely South Downs.
