I shared a twin room with my sister staying for two nights. The room was clean and well serviced, however, there was very limited wardrobe space for long dresses and trousers. To make more space we had to move the ironing board from the wardrobe which wasn’t ideal. The staff were welcoming and friendly and anticipated our needs by offering to carry our cases down the few steps when the small lift at the entrance wasn’t working. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot food and pastries.

This is a wonderful hotel. The room was amazing as was the restaurant. Easy walk to the castle, shopping and restaurants. The lack of parking or a place for drop off/pick up is annoying.

I arrived late in the evening and was delighted to arrive at the parkgate hotel. My room was beautiful, staff so helpful and my breakfast the next morning was lovely. Will definitely stay again.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Its proximity to the train station was appealing to me, but I liked the location for many other reasons as well — close to shopping, restaurants and sights while still being quiet. The staff was excellent and the spa a wonderful indulgence. I was in a suite and loved the huge sofa to relax in!

What a beautiful hotel The Parkgate is. We couldn’t have picked better for our stay in Cardiff. The check in was very welcoming and warm, we had arrived early and were very grateful our room was ready. The decor of the hotel was fitting for its history and it was immaculate throughout. Our accessible room was spacious and very well equipped for a perfect nights stay. Breakfast was also a positive experience with great produce and friendly service. A luxury experience on every level. Thank you to the lovely staff and the beautiful accommodation.
