Wonderful experience. Very friendly and helpful owners and staff. Food was excellent both dinner and breakfast. Room was compact but clean and comfortable. Well stocked with all requirements. Located in a small village with beautiful surroundings.

A wonderful family owned Inn which is situated in a beautiful location. My family and I were welcomed by the owners and were made to feel very welcome by them and all their friendly, chatty staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were very accommodating. The Rest and Be Thankful has a lot of history and character and there are lots of photos of the Inn and surrounding area from many years ago. The Inn was kept very clean as was our room and we had a comfortable stay. The food was excellent, always hot and cooked well and was delicious. The bar has a good selection of local ales and cider on draft as well as other tipples. Will definitely book and stay here again in the future. Thank you to Eric, Caz and all the staff for providing us with a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

Hotel is well run with helpful and friendly staff and management. My room was spacious and I slept well every night. Food was excellent with a large selection to choose from. I strongly recommend this hotel to future visitors.

Great stay,definitely like to book here again.Big comfortable clean room,new carpets,quality bed.All little extra touches,complimentary toiletries,tea,coffee etc,lovely spacious room.Great breakfast,kids given large breakfast,2 big pots of tea,all fruit juices(not stingey as so many others),plenty of everything,want for nothing,honestly... Super service,this place run how they should all be! .Great value.Thanks very much,appreciated the effort (rarity, these days).

A place I have stayed at before. Pleasant room with good facilities. Bed very comfortable, quiet room. Small window looking across to the hills & air conditioning equipment - not the most exciting! Can a little noisy when operating but didn't bother me. Good choice on evening menu & good portions. Tasty, pleasantly served by an efficient staff. Breakfast traditional with locally produced produce. All in all a very pleasant stop. Definitely value for money.

Very nice pub/hotel set in the countryside about 10 miles outside Minehead. Very welcoming owners and nice double bedroom (no.3). with good en suite shower and toilet. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked to order. Friendly staff and good restaurant with nice food, especially the salmon.Bacon and Chicken salad was salty and a bit dry but the rest was good. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

Clean and comfortable rooms, great food, helpful friendly staff, nice and close to Minehead and the coast or for walks in Exmoor, friendly atmosphere in the pub downstairs. Highly recommend this place :)

We were very impressed with the Covid 19 preparations that the Inn had put in place, including taking our temperature on arrival. We were warmly greeted and our room was spotlessly clean. The evening meal was excellent, as was the breakfast. A very enjoyable stay, would return. The only observation is that the furniture looks a little tired and would benefit from new dining tables, and some of the bedroom furniture. Carpet was also clean but outdated. However we enjoyed our stay.

Solo Traveller

Pleasant hotel with ample parking space. All packed into a small room but very comfortable. Pleasantly laid out & spotlessly clean. Single bed but comfortable. Only complaint is noise of generators etc on roof outside as room above dining/kitchen area, if window open. All quiet after about 23:00 and before 07:00 so a good night's rest achieved! As a general point it seems that many rooms for solo travellers are often over the 'noisiest' part of building. We pay good money like every other traveller & need to be treated the same with comfort & noise re - rooms. Meals were good, attractively presented & good sized portions. Breakfast the same with a good choice for the traveller.

Arrival - check-in was via a busy bar and I felt rushed and not given time to ask questions. Room - clean room with everything you need, couldn't find the telephone that it talks about in the welcome book. Breakfast - quick service and was tasty. Departure - Eric seems to be very busy running the place as he seems to have lost his politeness. I was made to wait until he sorted some other bits out before paying for my room. And when I asked the way out, he pointed to the side door and said 'that way', I went on to thank him for my stay and I got no response, he seemed very rude and don't give two hoots about customer service.

The room was very hot so I had to keep the window open. The noise was horrendous from the heating system outside. I appreciate this equipment is needed but I got hardly any sleep.
