This place is five miles south of Bristol city centre with easy access to the road and 10 minutes to the Ashton and Bristol golf courses. The renovated brooms are comfortable and clean. The menu is quite adequate for the price and a convenient and comfortable place to stay.

This year's football awards dinner was hosted at the rising sun in their fantastic secret garden location. A glitzy clamping-style setup. 8 tables were positioned around a central area that allowed everyone to be near each other while still being socially distancing. It's stunning. The staff were attentive, attended to all our needs, were kind, courteous, patient, and a credit to the pub, and they truly couldn't have done more for us! We had arranged a buffet-style menu with full or fresh pizzas. Bread with garlic, burgers. Chips, and other finger foods. The food was absolutely to die for. Fresh, tasty, and filling, and everyone kept returning for more! There was no food left, and the garlic bread is the best I have ever had, and 4 other people in the party said the same. Our football team and our wives have indicated that we can highly suggest the rising sun, whether holding an event like ours or dining there as a couple. They were fantastic! We had the best evening, it went by so fast, and it always shows how good the evening is when it happens! thank you, rising sun, and your wonderful staff!.

I will strongly recommend it to other people who wanted to have a lovely life in the garden. This place is quite suitable for families because of the large parking area with great room. It has a lovely, quiet garden, where you can relax with great seating. I had a wonderful lunch here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
