Superb restaurant food for dinner in this delightful village compensates for the rather mediocre room in this ancient inn. However the latter is reflected in the very modes room price and staying here is worthwhile for the dining experience alone. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful

Absolutely fantastic stay. Fantastic location. The staff could not do enough for you. The owner Jane deserves a special mention. Very hard working and sooooo helpful. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THE ROYAL OAK.

We really enjoyed our two nights in this lovely traditional thatched inn set in pretty peaceful surroundings. Excellent local ales and very good food. Staff were friendly and eager to help. Great spot from which to visit Dunster, Minehead etc and for walking on Exmoor. We hope to return.
