Great but i feel there is a lot of profiteering going on during the snowdon race weekend. cant even afford the price for next year, so sadly llanberis wont get our money due to the price of the hotel so we stay elsewhere

Beautiful hotel with an incredible tiered outdoor terrace facing the lake. A great place to watch the sunset, have a pint, and listen to the sounds of the steam engines hard at work.

Excellent stay! The parking was a huge plus and especially important as my husband was travelling by motorbike. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was good, and we also had a delicious evening meal from the bar. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Thank you – we would happily stay again!

Booked our stay at the Royal Victoria Hotel for the purpose of hiking up Snowden. This was a great choice as the hotels location was ideal, being a few hundred yards from the start of the Llanberis path. The hotel itself was very clean, staff super friendly, and the room met our needs. Car parking wasn't a problem as the car park has ample space, and as previously mentioned, is a stone throw from the start of the path we would take to the summit. Eating was good, choice of the restaurant or simply eat in the bar area with all the usual choices you'd expect, fish and chips, steak, pies or vegetarian options. Buffet style breakfast served from 7am, with plenty of choices to suit most people. Overall really happy with our stay, and will be returning in the future. A defiant for hikers or even folk wanting a quiet scenic get away, recommended!

The Royal Victoria Hotel gets so much right it hardly seems worth mentioning anything it falls down on- but for info I'll mention the TV in the lounge was broken so no World Cup, and the room was warm at night- but that's a common experience across the industry. The food, service, gardens, cleanliness and interiors were superb. This was our second visit; standards still as high as ever. And the food at the restaurant - it's knockout. A credit to the region.

If you want to keep an eye on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or be close to the beginning of the Llanberis path up Mt. Snowdon, this is the place to be. And, if its raining and cold, you'll be content to eat at the Hotel's pub. There's a short walk through the woods to Dolbadarn Castle which is, yes, a castle in Wales, and very picturesque. Breakfast is adequate- an arrival of multiple coaches may have you relocated to a smaller dining room which happened to us, but then we were not on anyone else's schedule so all was satisfactory. The hotel is convenient to local bus service and an easy walk into town for more stores, outfitters and restaurants. Staying in this Hotel gives you a connection to Snowdon's past as it has been present in some form for nearly 200 years on the site. Stay there, eat a healthy breakfast and begin your ascent. What's wrong with that?

Great Hotel and well located in Eryri to give you access to; Yr Wyddda, Carneddau and Glydeeau mountains. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The food was also good and the bar was reasonably priced for the area. It’s a 5 minute walk from Llanberis village centre and Llyn Padarn.

Just back from a 2 night stay at The Royal Victoria Hotel and after having read some very mixed reviews, I didn't really know what to expect, but the place was absolutely fine. Location was literally just across the road from the start if the Llanberis path for Snowdon or the railway if yiu wanted to get the train up. We found the staff, room and breakfast all to be ideal. Our only little downside was the shower tray filled up with water but we let them know when we checked out. I had booked the coach house, but upon arrival found we'd actually been put in the hotel, so was even better. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room which you could get more of at the reception, an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, fan and a sofa alongside a superking size bed (2 singles pushed together). I would stay there again if I ever went to that area and its the perfect location for sightseeing and climbing Snowdon.

I attended on UTS2026 as a volunteer and a competitor. This hotel is about 5 mins by walking to the start line of the race. The room was clean and had almost everything I wanted. I only missed a bath tub that I wanted to use after the race, but I only got a shower. The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was also fantastic. This was my 2nd time in the Royal Victoria Hotel. I am sure I will be back for another visit next year as I have an unfinished business with the race as I DNFed.
