The Royal Victoria Hotel gets so much right it hardly seems worth mentioning anything it falls down on- but for info I'll mention the TV in the lounge was broken so no World Cup, and the room was warm at night- but that's a common experience across the industry. The food, service, gardens, cleanliness and interiors were superb. This was our second visit; standards still as high as ever. And the food at the restaurant - it's knockout. A credit to the region.

If you want to keep an eye on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or be close to the beginning of the Llanberis path up Mt. Snowdon, this is the place to be. And, if its raining and cold, you'll be content to eat at the Hotel's pub. There's a short walk through the woods to Dolbadarn Castle which is, yes, a castle in Wales, and very picturesque. Breakfast is adequate- an arrival of multiple coaches may have you relocated to a smaller dining room which happened to us, but then we were not on anyone else's schedule so all was satisfactory. The hotel is convenient to local bus service and an easy walk into town for more stores, outfitters and restaurants. Staying in this Hotel gives you a connection to Snowdon's past as it has been present in some form for nearly 200 years on the site. Stay there, eat a healthy breakfast and begin your ascent. What's wrong with that?

Great Hotel and well located in Eryri to give you access to; Yr Wyddda, Carneddau and Glydeeau mountains. The room was clean, well equipped and comfortable. The food was also good and the bar was reasonably priced for the area. It’s a 5 minute walk from Llanberis village centre and Llyn Padarn.

Just back from a 2 night stay at The Royal Victoria Hotel and after having read some very mixed reviews, I didn't really know what to expect, but the place was absolutely fine. Location was literally just across the road from the start if the Llanberis path for Snowdon or the railway if yiu wanted to get the train up. We found the staff, room and breakfast all to be ideal. Our only little downside was the shower tray filled up with water but we let them know when we checked out. I had booked the coach house, but upon arrival found we'd actually been put in the hotel, so was even better. There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room which you could get more of at the reception, an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, fan and a sofa alongside a superking size bed (2 singles pushed together). I would stay there again if I ever went to that area and its the perfect location for sightseeing and climbing Snowdon.

Lovely hotel and perfect location for walking up Snowdon, room spacious, breakfast lovely and we had a beautiful meal in the restaurant overlooking the gardens which were stunning, found the staff friendly and helpful

I attended on UTS2026 as a volunteer and a competitor. This hotel is about 5 mins by walking to the start line of the race. The room was clean and had almost everything I wanted. I only missed a bath tub that I wanted to use after the race, but I only got a shower. The staff were very helpful and polite. The breakfast was also fantastic. This was my 2nd time in the Royal Victoria Hotel. I am sure I will be back for another visit next year as I have an unfinished business with the race as I DNFed.

Staff are always lovely. Most have been there years. We had breakfast and evening meals on our 3 night stay. Always good quality food of generous portions. The room was quiet, comfy bed, clean, good quality linen etc. Bathroom although clean, could do with an update. Shower was over bath which is not great, shower screen didn't do anything and water was over floor. The bath panel was ruined because of water ingress. Wouldn't stop me staying again, its probably one if the nicest hotels in area, I've stayed in other rooms which have normal shower.

Hotel in brilliant position we had everything we needed. Atrium for breakfast with views of the whole of Llanberis was stunning. Breakfast very fresh and varied. Our only complaint would be evening meal did not come up to expectations. Advertised as served with salad. A flat bread with minute bits of salad. A disappointment.. Quite pricey. The hotel and staff were great.

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring north wales. From check in to check out our weekend stay was excellent. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We ate in the bar and the restaurant and can recommend both. Breakfast is self serve with a good selection of options. The building was well heated and the rooms were comfortable. This was a second visit and definitely won’t be the last.
