While our room was clean and spacious, there was a big damp patch and the wallpaper on another wall was peeling off. The shower was a drip even though the bath was nice and spacious. The public areas of the hotel were dark, dingy and not very clean. A very jokey young man served us our evening meal which was fairly good food. Nothing special. But at breakfast the girl who served us was miserable. There were few choices and nothing available for vegans. There is no wifi in the rooms or hairdryer in the rooms. Apparently people stole them. There was also no apology for the wedding party's noise that went on until very late at night.

My partner and I decided to reserve this place for some time away. Looking at the Facebook page and the pictures on TripAdvisor, I was pleasantly surprised and decided to come for a visit. My partner and I planned a two-day break when we arrived for a two-day break, but when we got there, the staff didn't know anything about the hotel? They had to ask a fellow employee where the room was that we were staying in, and after that, we still don't know where to go. On the first glance, the room looked great. However, I was a little disappointed that the bathroom didn't have a large bath like advertised on the pictures. When going into the bathroom, I noticed a huge crack in the wall and ceiling with wallpaper falling and what appeared to be signs of dampness around the cracks. Squeaking floors. Dinner was quite nice, but I wasn't expecting to pay 13 for mac and cheese and sit next to a radiator at full blast. I wake up to the sound of builders venturing bricks and cementing the roof outside. We weren't comfortable letting the natural light in as the bed was directly next to the window. I was so excited to try all the foods on the Food Stand on Facebook page, including milkshakes and cakes and other sweet and savoury delights. But I lost out on the fact that

We just ate a delicious three-course meal tonight after a busy day in Edinburgh. The food was fantastic, with steaks and crispy chips melt in your mouth, plenty of food options for everyone, and deserts that are to die for. Beautiful decor and helpful staff. We will surely come back. 65 for a family of four with drinks. Absolutely wonderful.

We had a wonderful stay at this nice hotel, nice parking, very friendly staff and a nice comfortable pittoresk hotel room with assurance. They served great traditional food and the breakfast was very tasty.
