Very pleasant stay for two nights. The room is small but nicely furnished and very good value. Zara provides outstanding personal service and an excellent and excellently priced breakfast cooked by John who went above and beyond and gave us a few helpful walks advice. Also a beautiful traditional pub with good beer options.

What a charming pub! I called in to have dinner with my companion. It was lovely and peaceful. I had just left the room. I ordered a cheeseburger with chips and my companion ordered a steak baguette with chips. Both were fantastic. The baguette had a wide selection of filling. The steak was lovely and tender, and the burger was delicious. Just soft burger buns, lettuce, tomato, and cheese, you could tell that the burger meat was of good quality. Congratulations to the chef, john. A gentle man who you can tell takes great pride in his work.

I stayed in Ambleisde on a few occasions and often go to the unicorn for a drink and I always get a warm welcome. The pub meals are of good standard, large portions and very good value for money. Pub is full of tourists and locals and this provides a good atmosphere, especially when live music is on.

I found this hidden gem of a pub while walking along Amblesides back streets. The friendly staff welcomed us in and we enjoyed a pint or two of their unicorn pale ale. When we ordered food, we can honestly say that it was exquisite. Although steak baguettes and cheeseburgers are standard items, these were excellent, if not even better, than any highend restaurant and at a fraction of the cost. The chef, John, was absolutely amazing to us, and now that weve found it, we will be returning for another visit during our stay.

I stumbled upon this place today by chance, up a side street, in a lovely traditional pub. Ordered dinners and beverages for the family for a very good price and honestly top quality food, good portion sizes and felt like home cooked meals. This is now my go to place next time we visit because I normally pay double at flashy restaurants in the area and, if I'm honest, I'm never satisfied with the food. Danny is the chef well done, keep up the great work.
