Good budget hotel near city centre. Room was a bit shabby but clean overall. Bathroom clean and well kept. Came with continental breakfast included which was good.

Affordably good quality accommodation with fabulous service. From the initial welcome to the time we departed and throughout the stay, we received the most professional, efficient, polite and friendly service from everyone of the hotel’s team we encountered, with special mention to the awesome Simon. The affordable rooms within this historic building are clean and functional; above all, they are very clean and comfortable with modern facilities like free-view television and reliable hotel Wi-Fi. The bed was comfy with crisp linen atop good duvet and pillows all of which aided a good nights sleep (some rooms might be noisy given the proximity to a reasonably busy road). The en-suite bathroom was also spotlessly clean with good water pressure to the shower and soft towels, complemented by some small bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The free breakfast was adequate and welcome, with a basic hot and cold self service buffet selection The hotel is located on the edge of the town centre of Halifax just a ten-minute walk from the railway station and even less of an amble from the bus station, and the same distance to the Peace Hall, also very close to the town's retail and leisure attractions. A good value for money friendly hotel in a good location, I can highly recommend. The hotel has new owners and management.

I was in Halifax for a work trip and stayed here while a colleague stayed at a different hotel which was about the same price. We had completely opposite experiences in terms of comfort and quality, and should either of us go to Halifax again, the wool merchant hotel is on top of the list of places to stay.

A little tired but for price very very good value and rooms were so nice and warm. Will definitely use again. Only spoke to staff on phone due to Covid but they were very courteous and helpful.

The room was spacious the service excellent. The room was cold as one radiator was not working, but a portable heater was supplied. Dinner was brought to the room and was delicious. A great view of Halifax Minster as a bonus. I would highly recommend it.

Massive bathtub, more like a submarine with really powerful jets in it to give a hot tub experience. Big room, well furnished with a sofa added. Very good.

Tidy rooms, Clean comfortable beds. Courteous staff. We have stayed there about 12 times, which tells its own story, we will be staying there again in the not too distant future.

I arrived at hotel later than the final check in time. Katrina was exceptionally helpful in arranging for me to collect my key when put in a safe place. Everything went to plan. Room very comfortable and good tea and coffee facilities in room. Did not get chance to eat at hotel as had to leave however reception staff very friendly when I checked out. Would definitely recommend and would definitely return in the future.
