This is a special and unique place. It has simplicity and charm. The rooms were nice and the grounds and buildings were fantastic. I would love to stay here again!

fast check in even with a long line. great staff, clean nice rooms. only thing my son didn't like was there are no tv's in the room.

Everything was fine except the Fan wasn't working so it got a bit stuffy in our room. Luckily there was a little breeze so we opened the door/window for fresh air.

Beautiful location right across the street from a beautiful beach and tide pools. It almost felt as if we were camping, there was plenty of outdoor seating and amenities like volleyball net and firepit. Room was recently renovated but the bathroom was still a little outdated but do-able. The water was either too hot or too cold but other than that one of my favorite stays!

Everything was amazing, the stay, the cleanliness etc. Dinner was expensive, almost $50 for adult and close to $30 for child. I was hesitant but gave it a try because the front desk person told me there were a few options like a roasted chicken or steak etc. When we got there it was only the steak. I wish they were more specific about what type of steak. Grateful we got to eat something but not worth $70 meal for an adult and child. Also the only drink option was water. There was coffee, hot coco, and tea. But looking back at the interaction I had with the front desk person, she didn’t sound sure. I’m glad I tried the food there but in the future I will choose to go somewhere else for dinner.

Room view ocean view. The ground is great. Room is dated, but we all know that. On-premise food (breakfast and dinner) are barely ok, but we are not here for the food either.

We had a view of a glen from our room and could hear the ocean in the evening. Deer greeted us in the morning and the entire place is breathtaking.

This was our second time staying at this absolutely beautiful, historic property. We love Asilomar for its quiet and comfortable atmosphere and its close proximity to Pebble Beach, Carmel, downtown Pacific Grove and Monterey. Just keep in mind this is not a “resort.” There’s no valet parking, spas (there is an older pool on the far edge of the grounds), or Michelin-starred restaurants. You won’t find a refrigerator, microwave, or even a telephone or television in the guest rooms. The rooms we’ve stayed in each visit were clean and comfortable, and reminiscent of a room in a rustic mountain cabin. We always see deer when we walk the pathways around the property. In the evening we enjoy making the short walk out to Asilomar Beach to take in the gorgeous sunsets. We highly recommend this place, and plan to return later in the year.
