The place and the staff were great! It contains a museum to the railroad hub that used to be in La Plata and it was very interesting. You can play pool (wonderful billiards table in the lobby), or you can swim in their large pool! I've stayed in large 4-5 star hotels that weren't as clean as this Inn. Complimentary breakfast was very good too - eggs were amazing. If we are ever in the Kirksville area again, this is the only place I'll stay.

Had a great stay! The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the room was comfortable. Everything was well taken care of, and the location was convenient. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Luxury with a touch of home. This was my second stay, and it definitely won’t be my last. The hotel is beautifully maintained, exceptionally clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff is warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like a valued guest from the moment you walk in. The rooms have the perfect balance of upscale comfort and a cozy, home-like atmosphere. Anytime I’m in the Macon or Kirksville, Missouri area, this will be my hotel of choice. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding place to stay!

This is the absolute best customer service I’ve experienced anywhere. I travel 4-5 days a week and stay in hotels all over. I highly recommend this location to anyone who is in the area.

The Depot Inn has recently added a hot breakfast. While not a wide variety, it is good. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

If you are a train fan, this is the place to stay! Great collection of train memorabilia for models and real trains. Great indoor pool and they have a billiard table. The tracks are just a short walk down the street. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. It was incredibly clean with everything in perfect order making it such a peaceful stay. The historical exhibits of trains and the railway system was a wonderful detail throughout the property. The breakfast was great as was the complimentary happy hour beverage. There is also a good Mexican restaurant next door. I would happily return to this hotel.

Depot Inn is fabulous. We enjoyed the indoor pool. We also used the propane grill and tables on back patio. We were able to use tables in lobby area for lunch together. We constantly saw staff cleaning. We enjoyed the train museum quality decor. We had numerous families staying for a wedding in a nearby town. We highly recommend the Depot Inn.

There is no better place I have stayed at, and I have been to quite a few. If you are a train lover, this is a must! Live feed of train stations and minutes from Amtrack as well as regular train routes. Promise, you won't be disappointed! (They even have autographs from celebrities who have been there such as a signed picture of Willie Nelson) This place is awesome! Book early!!

The Depot Inn was very clean and nice rooms. We had multiple people in town for a wedding. Depot Inn had a grill which we used 1 evening, and we had 18 people eat dinner at tables on a back patio. Our grandchildren loved the pool, and also the playground and some bikes on the property. The building is essentially railroad museum. Highly recommend this hotel.
