This place was wonderful as a couple when we stayed there. Everything about it was excellent, from the concierge taking our luggage from the taxi to our room. Both the bed and the room were large. A pod coffee maker and a kettle with tea and tea making facilities were supplied. The evening gowns were nice extras, but the absence of hotel slippers was disappointing. There was no place to snuggle up in this bed, and it was huge and cozy. There wasn't much we could do to wait in the shower because the bathtub over the shower was not what we anticipated.

My family stayed at this historical structure from 1020 to 1023. The flags are on the front of the building when I stayed in room 376. My 3 teenage kids could be accommodated in the room which was excellent, with two queen size beds and a rollaway bed. The restroom amenities were excellent. The hotel concierge and room service were both friendly. We enjoyed breakfast at the lobby restaurant. A little expensive for breakfast. The hotel was strategically located in the heart of San Francisco. Fisherman's Wharf and Chinatown were within less than ten minutes.

We really like the service provided, the hotel was good and the live music was great, and the staff was very nice. The beauty treatment was terrible.

I would highly recommend this hotel, even though it is one of San Francisco's most well-known hotels. I was there during my time there, which surpassed my expectations. The location is close to everywhere. In addition to being spotless, the lobby is amazing. The cheerful, cordial employees. The food served in the main restaurant could use a lift, which is my only gripe. Although I am aware that we are all beginning to get back on track after a long period of time, the moderately priced salad and charcuterie board did make me feel disappointed.

My husband and I got married in October 1987. Our wedding was very small because we were young and alone. Our wedding night was organized at the Fairmount in San Francisco by my best friend. Even though we live in San Francisco, we have not returned to that place since that night. Yesterday, we celebrated our anniversary with marriage. Several days prior to our arrival, I called the Fairmount to make sure everything was in order. They upgraded us to a full suite after I mentioned it was a special occasion. The entire staff could not have been friendlier or sweeter. From Lauren who helped with our reservation, to Tom, the chief bellman, who assisted us in removing forgotten phones. It was a perfect, great night!.
