Rooms are nice and remodeled and clean. Bed is super comfortable. Staff nice and friendly. Allowed late check out with no extra fee. Don’t get deceived by the outside. Will stay again!

Brand new rooms, complete remodeled. Dont let the outside fool you, really nice staff, would 100% stay again no doubt about it. Really chill area great for the money.

The location was under renovation outside but the rooms were shockingly nice. All modern. When I pulled up and saw the work being done outside and the rood numbers written on masking tape I was expecting the worst. But the rooms are very nice with good bedding. Give this place a chance.

After seeing the photos, I booked 3days, for my business trip. New Owners have turned the old Harbor Bay Inn into a “Go To” place for a simple, well appointed room. Every room is remodeled (less than 6month as of this review 6-2026). Everything is new! Not just refreshed or painted over. Very impressed. If you need to stay in the TRIANGLE SQUARE area of Costa Mesa/Newport Beach, give it consideration. By end of year, all exterior will be completed, new Signage and Logos will be added, as the parking lot will have a fresh coat of asphalt. I will definitely return.

My overnight stay at this hotel was amazing. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind. The room was nicely decorated and really clean. You will be so happy if you book your stay here. Please remember to treat the room as if it was your own place and keep it clean. When I booked my stay, everything was brand new. It was such a nice experience!

Room was very nice super clean host was very friendly, room had microwave and fridge all new, would stay again for sure just need s a ice bucket and ice, also Lil better shampoo and conditioner needed but over all very nice

This place has new owners (thank goodness because the previous reviews were horrible). The rooms are newly remodeled and are more modern and honestly very nice. However, the TV remote is not user friendly, the sign says HBO is included but we could not use it, the roll of toilet paper left in our room was used, there was no phone available in the room to connect with the front desk / owners, the phone number on the website is not active (the male owner said spectrum has not yet hooked them up - but from previous reviews under the new ownership, I feel there was more than enough time to get those connected - they’re important), the toilets have tiles on both sides of the bottom that kept falling off and giving off a FOUL SMELL, not enough towels are provided in the room (luckily my daughter and I brought our own), there were some questionable guests (which is out of the owners control, I assume). With that being said, it looks like a work in progress, overall it was an okay stay, the owners (one man and one lady) seem very nice. Hoping the construction continues to improve.

The rooms are newly renovated and extremely clean, however the sheets were stained. Also, no trash can in the room. It was also pretty quiet given that it’s a motel with room doors facing the outside. Staff are was very friendly and helpful.

The motel is currently being renovated, but I had a newly put together room and it was nice and clean. There was not a waste paper basket, an oversight I'm sure. The neighborhood's not fantastic, but it's close to Newport and the freeway and was reasonably priced.

The shower was cold and limited TV Chanel’s , plus the guy that was in the Office had very limited English and could not walk into the office , had to talk to them from outside through a glass window . Room itself was modern and very clean . The bed was good and sheets clean . The are currently renovating so the outside Is a mess
