Our family of four with two daughters ages 9 and 14 unexpectedly ended up staying at Hotel Zephyr at the last minute and it was delightful. We tend to stick to the same hotel chains that have pools and free breakfast that our kids have come to expect, but going outside of our norm this time was really fun... The hotel looks kind of like a ship with pothole windows and has excellent parking. Our first impression was of the courtyard which is a whimsical place where you'd want to spend some time. Big lawn games and fire pits with art and it feels SO festive. We walked to the check in desk and were pleasantly greeted with friendly faces, along with bottles of water for each of us, two cute little bundles of s'mores supplies (sticks for toasting marshmallows are by the front desk), yo-yos, a coloring book and colored pencils, and cute little stuffed animals that could go on a backpack zipper for each of our daughters. It was SO unexpected and thoughtful. We enjoyed the game room and the decor was super fun all over. Our room was comfortable- a bit small and a tiny bit rough around the edges, but it was clean! The porthole window overlooking the sky wheel was so fun. There's a fridge in the room, and there were two microwaves in the area with the ice maker and a purified water dispensing machine. You can also walk through the courtyard into the restaurant and bar next door, and directly out to the piers. Also SO close to the big bus. We would definitely stay again.

The best part was it was right at pier 39. We walked to the pier many time and even with my prosthetic leg it wasn’t hard to walk around the hotel and property

Great place to stay. Not sure how we ended up with a handicap room and double beds instead of two queen but the place was clean and centrally located. Would stay here again. Fire alarm went off at 10:30 pm not sure what that was about but we were back in our rooms within 10 minutes.

Excellent (turisty) location. We asked for a room with a view and it was spectacular: we could see the sea lions and Alcatraz from our window. The entertainment in the courtyard is a big plus. Our kids had a blast making s’mores and playing giant connect 4.

Absolutely fantastic location. Hop on/hop off bus out the front. Walking distance to Trader Joe’s and the cable car. Right on Fisherman’s Wharf so great restaurants nearby. Room was a great size, bed was really comfortable and it was so nice to have a balcony. Highly recommend

It’s an amazing location. The rooms are small and although it is non-smoking my room smelled of smoke but the amenities and the location are excellent and I would stay again. Quick walk to pier 39, the hotel has several shops facing the pier and guests can get to the piers by exiting thru the Bar/restaurant via the courtyard. there is an ihop right at the corner so everything is very conveniently located.
