The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very disappointed that the pool is closed and may take some time to reopen. The property is owned by the state so renovations are highly needed! The staff is great! The beach location is top-notch for that area. I would definitely go back again, but not until the pool reopens! did not try the restaurant. We were too late for breakfast! Very close vicinity to Gurnee Mills, shopping and antique centers! Looking forward to our next stay!

A hidden gem along Lake Michigan! My wife and I really enjoyed the King Suite balcony room, with a beautiful view of the beach and Lake Michigan. Yes, the hotel is older, but the lobby and rooms have been updated and were very clean. The beach is huge and has plenty of space to spread out. The biggest room for improvement is the grounds/landscaping of the hotel - the grass needed mowing, the beds needed weeding, and the firepit was overgrown. Also, remember that along Lake Michigan it's about 10 degrees cooler, so plan accordingly. Lastly, besides the hotel restaurant, you'll probably have to drive 25-30 minutes for anything other than fast food.

Room was spotless! Hotel was quiet and only noise I heard was guests coming and going in the hallway. The view from my room (211) was beautiful and relaxing. I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. There is a pool area that’s under construction and will be a nice, added amenity.

The views!! What a gem on the lakefront. Cool retro building that’s updated and sparkling clean inside. Kind helpful staff and nice room with an awesome view of the lake, all at a reasonable price. We missed the restaurant due to holiday hours, but excited to check out next time!

This is one of our favorite locations. The restaurant is nice, but also there is a lot of quick bite locations in town, or a grocery store if you want to picnic at the beach. We Love the private beach access, but often do go to the state Park beach as well. The only think missing lately has been the morning coffee! We used to be able to get coffee in the lobby in the morning, last two trips we had to drive to a coffee shop to get coffee as staff was not making coffee in the morning anymore.

We ate at Nolan’s and the food was absolutely amazing flavorful, fresh, and served with great hospitality. It truly made the experience complete. Whether you’re visiting for a getaway or just stopping through, I highly recommend checking this place out. You’ll leave full, happy, and refreshed! 🌊✨

Staff was lovely! Room was spectacular! I enjoyed every single minute here!! I will be coming back again and again! Absolutely love everything about this hotel! Everything as described and more. Clean and beautiful facility lovely lobby beautiful decor just cant say enough its wonderful here!
