The property was exactly as depicted in the photos and other reviews. It is a great, basic and budget-friendly option in Valdez. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There were both hot and cold options both mornings that we were there for breakfast. The tub was a bit slow draining when we showered, but there was plenty of hot water and good water pressure. There was a great local restaurant right next door. Everything in town was easily accessible from this hotel. There are several other fun things to do that are just a short drive away (Glacier View Park, Solomon Gulch Fish Hatchery, hiking the Goat Trail near Bridal Veil Falls, etc.). Our beds were comfortable. We were able to request more towels at the front desk when we needed them. You could hear some hallway noise in the rooms, but everyone was very respectful during quiet/overnight hours so it was not an issue. The rooms did not have coffee makers or tables in them, but there was always coffee available in the breakfast area. Guests were more than welcome to gather in the breakfast area or to use the microwaves that were in the breakfast area during their stay. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Easy access, helpful staff. They assisted us visitors in cuisine suggestions and activity directions. Would definitely stay again. Roo.s are abit small but its a hotel not a resort..

The front staff members were very gracious and kind. They were really great people. Also the room and showrooms were clean and nice. Very close to Valdez harbor and crews shipyard. Sun Hwang June 22, 2026.

While hotel looks old, it is well maintained and clean. It has typical Alaskan feel to it. Walls thin, but there was no one running or yelling down halls. 5 seasons it was not, but a perfect place to spend the night after a day exploring Valdez. We had to reinstall a window screen in room with help from nearby folks living nearby. Community helping folks in need. Love the city!

We really enjoyed our stay at Keystone Hotel in Valdez. Honestly, I don’t understand why this property has such a low rating. People booking this hotel should keep its price range in mind. For the price, it’s very hard to find anything comparable in Valdez, especially a place that also offers free parking and a complimentary breakfast that is more than enough to start your day. Yes, the hotel is not brand new, and you can tell that the building has been around for a while. However, what matters most to me is cleanliness. A hotel can be modern and luxurious, but if it isn’t cleaned properly, it becomes uncomfortable to stay there. Keystone may not be the newest hotel in town, but it is clean, and that makes a huge difference. The mattress was comfortable, the bed linens were clean, the bathroom was spotless, and the shower was pleasant to use. We never had any issues with hot water. The staff were also friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. In terms of value for money, I honestly think this hotel has very few competitors in Valdez. If you’re expecting a luxury resort, this may not be the place for you. But if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to get a good night’s sleep, enjoy a decent breakfast, and spend your days exploring Alaska, Keystone Hotel is an excellent choice.

Great staff, very helpful and pleasant. Riding my Harley, was allowed to park under awning. The breakfast was limited, but was attended and kept fresh and adequately stocked. Simple rooms (old man camp from the pipeline), I slept like a baby! A great economically priced hotel, I highly recommend this place!

It is very old with thin walls but people know that going into renting this hotel. People were great, parking easy and at a reasonable cost.

The town wasn't very big and was easy to get around. The hotel was very convenient and located within a few blocks of the pier where we went to Stan Stephens Glacier tour.
