The location was perfect. They upgraded our room which was wonderful. The room was updated and great for our needs. The only things were that the shower leaked all over the floor if you didn’t place the curtain just right, the ants and nats were bad (but it is that season and couldn’t really be helped. They did provide ant traps.), and for some reason there was only 1 small trash can in the whole room. We asked for more trash cans but they didn’t have any, so they gave us some trash bags. We would definitely recommend this hotel!

First time to Maui, hotel was easy to find , welcomed by front desk agent who was very friendly and had the aloha spirit , checked me in very quickly being it was 10:00p.m. And I was super tired . Room was close by with parking stalls easily accessible which was right outside my room. Room was extremely clean, fresh cold A/C and I had the most pleasant nights rest and woke up to the ocean right outside my door . Mahalo and I will definitely be booking my future stays with their hotel again .

We had a late Checkin but the service was on point, I was even shown to my room tho it was late and he couldn’t have been any more welcoming. The grounds person I encountered in the morning outside was equally friendly and kind. Place was comfy, clean and slept very soundly. Thank you for the wonderful experience and super close to beach!

Our ocean view 1‑bedroom suite at Kohea Kai far exceeded expectations. The photos don’t come close to capturing how beautiful and peaceful this place really is. The suite was clean, nicely furnished, and surprisingly affordable for Kihei. The best part was the balcony/deck — every evening we watched stunning sunsets while listening to the sound of the waves. Being right across the street from the beach made everything effortless, from morning walks to quick dips in the ocean. If you want comfort, convenience, and true ocean views without the resort‑level price tag, this suite is a gem.

When I stayed in the penthouse, this felt like a great secret find, and I mainly wish I had made more use of the kitchen and living space. I will have to come back, and wil have my friends stay in the other rooms so we can enjoy the site more fully! Great staff too, even when I was having a late-night arrival. I'm at least glad I walked across the street to the nice beach multiple times.

Tough timing to arrive right after the bad storm. This area was hit hard and we can imagine the work it took to get all back together. Staff shortage affected housekeeping but the front desk was helpful and cheerful in providing fresh towels and other needed items. No internet service but we were compensated fairly. Good A/C in our room and comfortable bed. We appreciated the complimentary use of beach chairs, umbrella and cooler. Easy to drive out of the rain on Maui!! Would enjoy visiting again when Kohea Kai is bright and shiny!
