This is a good bargain stay, just be mindful of the surrounding neighborhoods as some are more safe than others. We really liked that there were tons of bodegas to grab quick bites to eat, easy access to bus and subway, and the customer service was great!

A must stay! Charming boutique hotel with large, renovated, comfortable rooms. Staff was exceptionally helpful with early checkin and arranging taxis. Perfect for staying close to Yankee stadium for easy travel to the game. Lots of food nearby including Dunkin next door for breakfast and snacks. 20 minute Lyft to LaGuardia. Love the place!

Excellent amenities and room quality. Perfect for our purposes. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful; we arrived in NYC from a red-eye off very little sleep and they were kind enough to hold our bags and let us check in a few hours early for a short afternoon nap. Convenient location close to subway stop that goes straight into Manhattan. It should be noted that the area in the South Bronx surrounding the hotel is on the sketchier side (although we always felt completely safe and comfortable in the hotel). It didn't bother me but guests sensitive to drug use, trash on streets, etc may want to reconsider their stay. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Thank you Melrose Hotel for one of the best trips of my life.

The mattress had stains that should be deep clean and removed. There should be a second mirror in the room versus exclusively in the washroom. Tv had a weird glob stain on it. Staff were helpful, lots of restaurants near by and subway.

I would definitely stay here again. Very close to the train station, a 3-4 minute walk. Love this state! Traveled to Manhattan and other areas. Location of hotel is not the best but 100% not the worst, stay to yourself like every other new yorker. Staff were helpful and kind. Room was very neat and spacious, traveled with 4.
