Because of it's proximity to Toyota Park, where it is a 5 minute stroll from the stadium, I spent the night at the new relax inn. It is also a short bus ride or drive from the halfway point. I wasn't under any great illusions, it's really a $69 motel. I checked in in a fairly simple manner. I had reserved a nonsmoking room, but was initially given a smoking room. Ive been around smokers all my life, but Ive never smelled anything this awful. For some reason the heating was on and the room was set to 85 f. I turned it off and tried the ac to clear the odor, which only made it worse. I had to switch and was assigned room 39. I opened the door to 39, and was a little surprised to hit the light switch and have disco lighting illuminate the dark room. I guess this is a honeymoon suite. There are mirrors on both walls and above the bed. The disco lighting is accompanied by colored lights and some plastic floral decorations surrounding the ceiling mirror. The walls are pink, and someone tried to dab white paint over it to create an effect. Sadly, they forgot to get the corners and edges. It was stormy in the area so I turned to on for sound. I stayed for three weeks alone, despite moving out of state. It was a true home away from home. The best motel in Chicago is definitely that! My room had a king-size bed and mini fridge as well as a microwave, and the weekly rates are extremely reasonable. The room was quite spacious, with a dining table and desk and a comfortable office chair. The housekeeping was always friendly and professional.

I've been here for about 6 weeks on business and want to return. The place is clean and secure. The owners are incredibly kind and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. There are many dining options nearby, even a nice authentic Mexican restaurant that you can stroll to. The housekeeping is wonderful and friendly. Definitely do not stay in a chain store.

The hotel is clean and quiet, but the location is in a shady neighborhood and it is locked behind a window. I believe it's not a crime because the manager doesn't look happy for some reason.
