This place is historic, adorable!! It’s not easy to not have a car I will say but they can drive you to your cabin too. It’s quiet but the lake was a big family party, beautiful to see all the people bbqs going and an amazing view. I will be back!!

Loved the location. Overlook buildings are separate from main complex and are low old stone buildings with one central tiny lobby surrounded by several (6?) rooms. Can be every st night if you are alone but would be fun with large families or groups requiring multiple rooms.

Fantastic friendly thoughtful staff. Our room was cleaned each day with fresh towels and bottled water. Peaceful property. Well updated and historic. Convenient to have Hikers cafe with quick bites. Well priced. Loved the gift shop and variety of quality choices. Hiking trails were well maintained and clean. Wonderful to see Bear Mountain being enjoyed by all. Enjoyed the small zoo. Injured animals being cared for and zoo upgrades. Clean large pool for all to enjoy. Definitely would stay there again.

I wish I’d stayed for a week so I could’ve hiked and swam in the lake. Instead, I was there for a weekend so we took advantage of the bar and the silence of the woods by simply walking through. The staff we met were wonderful: Sean at check-in is gregarious and kind; Beth in the bar is efficient and friendly, as were both bartenders named Mike.

Friendly atmosphere and staff. Lots to see and do! A bit outdated so must be ok with a outdoorsy/rustic feel.

This is a very beautiful property. Everybody was very friendly. We got to see the fireworks. The fireworks were the best I’ve ever seen in all my life. The kids had a great time.

The room was clean, more than adequate, the surroundings are beautiful, peaceful, and quiet never heard another person for three nights. If you have a car everywhere in the Metropolitan area is easily accessible save yourself the toll on the Cuomo and cross the Bear Mountain Bridge for free.

A small room but a great location. Bed was comfortable and A/C worked well. A little noisy, since the rooms are close to each other. Can be a bit of a challenge to find the room we were staying in. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and the room was clean.

We stayed overnight at the Lodge, as our daughter had her prom at the Inn. It was clean, peaceful, and affordable. My husband and I had a delicious dinner at the Inn restaurant and we all enjoyed breakfast at the Café. Lovely time.
