The staff were absolutely top shelf. John Earl is the GOAT of Planters Inn. Get his recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants. But all of the staff are friendly, personable and service oriented. All the thumbs up!

The hotel is charming and cozy. Its location in the historic district is perfect -- it's an easy walk to historic sites, shops, restaurants. The 5-night-a-week wine & cheese musical gatherings are a nice touch. There is no breakfast room in the hotel, but nearby eateries open as early as 6:30 a.m. My room was comfortable, roomy, and cozy. Some may have a fridge but mine did not. For me, that was not an issue. It would have been nice, though, to have a daily carafe of bottled water in the room like many old European inns do. My room looked out onto the nearby parking garage. For me, not an issue since at night the blackout curtains were closed and in the daytime, the light filtering shades were always down. I was unhappy, however, that there were no grab bars in the shower/bathtub. I am not disabled but I am elderly, and stepping in and out of the tub after my shower felt unsafe. In fact, even if I weren't elderly it would still feel unsafe. When I mentioned this to my family, they we're concerned and felt that this may even be a safety violation. I don't know whether the hotel offers "accessible" accommodations that meet safety standards, but in my view every bathroom in that hotel should have at least one grab bar in the shower. I would go back to the Planters Inn again if I were ever to go back to Savannah, but only if they had an "accessible" room available.

Great location to park the car for however long and walk Savannah. Reasonably priced for the area and time frame. Clean and safe location with friendly and helpful staff. Carl was on point and helpful with area happenings.

This hotel is an experience, from the beautifully decorated rooms to the staff. They have an early evening manager’s wine and cheese party in the lobby that’s a lot of fun. The desk staff is extremely helpful and we especially enjoyed John Earl.

The location of this property is PERFECT. You’re right next to the riverfront and can walk anywhere else in town. If you do not feel like walking, there is a free trolley that runs throughout the city and the stop is just outside the door. The staff was amazing. The room are “historic” so not the most up to date, but the beds are SUPER comfy and the place has a historic charm I love. Also good water pressure and instant hot water is an added plus! There’s also free little wine and cheese happy hr offered daily at 4:30. We loved it and would definitely stay there again!
