Nice location. There are places to walk to for breakfast and dinner. We only stayed one night, but it was very nice.

This is a great place for us and our small dog. It was a last minute stop in Santa Rosa on a west coast road. It turned out to be one of the best stops. We were given a quiet ground floor room with interesting, original art and colourful mid century decor. Those artistic touches were carried out on the courtyard where there were multiple garden rooms and sculptures to admire in the glorious greenery. The lounge was a step back in time with a Jetson’s touch and lux leather. The location is great right next to a well appointed park. The community gardeners and Bocce club were out in the far corner as we walked through. It is less than a 10 minute walk to down town and the historic railroad district. Great shopping, dining and Peanut’s sculpture hunt. In the one block area of the motel the SOFA arts area was on display with murals and art studios and shops. Access to Bike trails are a block away and the city seems very bike friendly and safe. Hope they’ll get bike rentals nearby. Our room had many local products and the breakfast was fresh fruit, great coffee, baked goods and delicious granola from the Spinster Sisters. If you like a retro vibe with quality and originality, this is your spot to stop. For any fans on Hotel Zed in Tofino you’ll enjoy the same feel. Thanks to the General Manager for lots of tips. Sad we will miss the Happy Hours and Fire Pit nights starting up soon.

The Astro Motel is an absolute gem! The mid-century modern renovation is perfectly executed on the exterior and inside the rooms. The grounds are beautifully designed with lots of citrus, olive trees, grasses and pollinator-friendly plants. A couple of the original motel signs are incorporated into the landscape, too. Our room was sparkling clean...i know this because I spilled something on the floor within minutes of walking in. When I wiped up the spill, the towel had no dirt on it! I loved the simple breakfast of local granola, yogurt, fruit, pastries, coffee and tea. We met other friendly guests in the lounge which is open all day until 10 pm. All the staff was friendly, but a special shout out goes to Betty who took care of us like she was the owner. Don't miss out on the Astro's sister business, restaurant "The Spinster Sisters", which is a short walk away through an alley full of beautiful murals. We ate dinner there in their garden our first night and the experience was 10/10. Don't sleep on their new weekend brunch either! (See what I did there?) We can't wait to return to the Astro Motel!!!

I honestly didn’t expect much going in, but wow—this place completely blew me away. The stay was shockingly awesome from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly and made everything feel easy and welcoming. One of the biggest perks was the location—super close to some amazing taco spots, all within walking distance, which made it perfect to grab a bite before heading out for the night. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just had a great vibe overall. Definitely a hidden gem—I’d stay here again without hesitation!

Great location with a short walk to the river trail, Luther Burbank home and garden, and restaurants. Quiet. All new retro furnishings, bathroom fixtures. Nice included breakfast with yoghurt, oatmeal, coffee, and the best granola I ever had.

Great location! My boyfriend and I were in town to see the best local Bay Area theater, the Imaginists which is located around the corner from the motel. We also had a wonderful breakfast across the street at the Parkside Café, which you can walk to as well. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was beautifully decorated and spacious. I definitely recommend staying here.!

The Astro is a go to away from the fast food boulevards strip malls. This time we had a little time in the morning so we visited the Burbank Garden across the street. Really fantastic. Enjoy!
