I booked based off the pictures and reviews. The room was clean and very nice. TV was a Roku so you weren't stuck watching local TV like normal hotels. Had nice size fridge, microwave small coffee maker. Bathroom was small,but I expected that. Larger people will struggle with the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable if you like super soft, if not take the mattress cover off. Air conditioner worked great.We had a wonderful visit, nice having a comfortable, clean,quiet space to go back to at the end of a busy day. Forget anything no problem, everything within a few minute drive.Hidden gem for sure, will be back next year for sure.

If you like motels, this place is for you! There is no on site staff. Payment is taken over the phone and a door code is sent to you. I loved not having to carry around a key card. Seamless, never had an issue. My husband and I loved this place. We brought a truck and trailer and there was ample parking. The room was super clean, comfy bed with soft sheets. Bathroom was small but it got the job done. I would have liked a bath mat in the bathroom. The only other addition I think the room needs is a broom and dust pan. The floors are not carpeted, it would have been nice to sweep the sand up before getting into bed. Communication with the host was also very prompt and helpful. I would absolutely stay again.

We loved our stay at the Blue Anchor. The room was clean, well equipped, not fancy but definitely a nice room for the price and a great value. The bed was extremely comfortable, the towels, nice and cushy. We had a great night sleep. We’ll be back.

The Blue Anchor was very clean, quiet, accommodating, and just what we needed for our visit to Houghton Lake. Instructions for accessing room upon arrival, etc. were simple. The entire experience ran smoothly. Would stay there again.
