Very convenient to access shop, dine and beach. The facility is very well maintained and kept clean. Many good people live and stay this facility. Quiet and wonderful view to both mountain and sea. Sunrise and sunset. Especially sunset was great. Wanted to stay longer.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom 2 bath condo for the month of May, 2026. This was a corner unit with a wrap around lanai and exceptional views of the mountains (sunrise) and the ocean (sunset). We also had a view of the pool and grounds including the koi pond. So lovely to sit on the lanai and enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Our unit was very well equipped with kitchen supplies and had a washer and dryer. The king bed was comfortable, with plenty of storage and closet space. Any need we had was quickly attended to by the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. We arranged 4 excursions with the concierge, Cheri, and all were terrific. The Whaler Resort is on Kaanapali Beach, perfectly positioned for a morning or evening walk on the beach and beside the Whalers village for shopping , restaurants and entertainment. The pool and hot tub are perfect and the beach is gorgeous. The resort has free garage parking! The Whaler resort is paradise and we are already planning our next trip in May 2027.

We love staying at The Whaler Resort! I like that it’s right next to all the shops and restaurants at Whaler Village. It’s a really nice combination of hotel amenities and condo living. The staff is super friendly and the property is very well maintained. We’ll definitely be staying here again.

we purchased an Expedia package including both flight tickets and stay, which was significantly less than booking separately, free parking is also a big plus. The location is excellent, right in the center of hotel zone (not necessary a bad thing) and in front of beach, walking distance to many restaurant options, it is also part of the a few miles beach front walk path, which we walked multiple times. The unit we got is well maintained and very clean, very happy about the stay, definitely recommend it.

The Whaler is a great resort for the price. My partner and I stayed there for four days and had a wonderful experience. The staff was professional, friendly, and always helpful. Our room had an amazing view, and the location was perfect, right next to Whalers Village. That said, Whalers Village had fewer stores than we expected. It mainly consisted of a few restaurants and high-end shops like Louis Vuitton. Overall, Maui was much more expensive than we anticipated. We even tried buying breakfast items for the week at a local grocery store and found the prices surprisingly high. Even so, our stay at The Whaler was excellent, and we would definitely recommend it.

We have stayed at the Whaler many times now. As long as we can find a room at a reasonable price, this is where we will stay. Whalers Village s right next door for shopping and dining options. We also shop at the local supermarket so that we can make meals too. Beach is great and Black Rock is a short walk down the beach. An overall very lovely place, with first rate service. Highly recommend!!

The Whaler is a beautiful place to stay, the rooms are really nice, kept up to date, clean, the property is immaculate, it has a great pool, and the beach is amazing. It really is paradise! We had a perfect view of the beach and the staff is friendly and accomadating, Ann was great and helped make my Mom and I's stay extra special. Thank you:)

Beautiful resort. Steps to the sand. Towels & free beach chairs at the ocean. Unit was clean. Free washer/dryer on every floor. Multiple elevators with little to no wait. Can take coolers to pool (always a plus for us). Coffee is wonderful. The Village is full of eateries & shops. Hope to come back soon!

Pros: Clean room. Steps away from the beach. Chec k in was very easy. Front desk was very responsive when asked for supply refills. Shared washer and drier on floor. Kitchen has the essentials. Fast Internet. Short 10-15 minute walk to the black rock for snorkeling. Ample parking. Next door to Whalers Village shops and restaurants. Cons, no deal breakers but: TV is about 20 years old from before HD TV days. Dated room but clean and functional. 5 star stay and fairly priced.
