Nice hotel in amish country. Clean spacious rooms. Breakfast was normal for hotels. Cleaning staff was friendly and courteous. Would definately recommend. 6 miles south in middleburt is Essenhaus smorgasbord and it is awesome. Ample parking and elevator was easy to access.

My wife and I stayed at The Van Buren on June 13 2026, and I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough. On June 11 a tornado tore through Shipshewana, knocking out power to what felt like 100% of the city. It was a chaotic and stressful situation, but The Van Buren was fully prepared with a backup generator that kept the lights on and guests safe. What really made the experience unforgettable, though, was the front desk agent, Karen. Despite the emergency unfolding around the town, Karen was the absolute definition of professional, kind, courteous, and polite. Her calm demeanor and excellent customer service turned a scary weather event into a comfortable, reassuring stay. People like Karen deserve to be recognized for going above and beyond. Thank you to The Van Buren and especially to Karen—you have a customer for life!

Beautiful hotel! Front desk even called us after we were in the room to make sure we were happy with it. Breakfast was fresh, good variety, and well-maintained. Will definitely stay here again!

The staff at the desk were all friendly and helpful and polite. Everything wa every clean. The room was a nice size with plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was better than many other hotels recently. There was sausag, eggs, potatoes and some really good bagels. In addition there was cereal and biscuits and gravy. It was a good variety. Would definitely stay here again.

We had An amazing stay. The hotel was very comfortable. The room was a good size and was clean. I led that i could open the windows in the room for fresh air. The hotel is on a nice quiet property with its own parking lot. The staff was friendly and so were the guest. We did not eat the breakfast but it looked and smelled amazing and alot of people were enjoying it. We would defenitly stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel if you want a down home country family friendly atmosphere. ❤️

Enjoyed our breakfast. Parking was safe and really appreciated the front covered entrance were we could load the car and be protected from the rain. The rooms were clean and comfortable , we had a good experience with the staff. Thank you for making our stay easy and enjoyable.
