Both the hotel and my hotel room were very clean and the hotel is also in an excellent location, near places to eat and shop. The reception desk was also very friendly and helpful in checking in and out. The only suggestion I would offer is maybe providing bottled water in the hotel room for guests upon check in.

I use the Motor Lodge whenever I am visiting my family in the area. Rooms are always spotless, comfortable, and ideally located for me

The motel is very unpretentious on a relatively busy street. I feared it would be noisy, but I had a room on the opposite side from the street and it was very quiet. I arrived on a dreary day, and the woman who checked me in was not all that welcoming. But I the room had everything I could have wanted--comfy bed, fridge (w freezer compartment), great shower, desk I could do some work at, convenient place for my suitcase, etc. If here on business again, I wouldn't hesitate to return.

There are multiple hotels in the area, others of which I’ve stayed over the years. This is my first choice when available.

Super clean , modern bedroom room and bathroom. I loved the retro turquoise colored refrigerator and bright red microwave. Air conditioner worked perfectly. I would highly recommend this motel.

Clean, quiet, comfortable, and price-wise! Not fancy, but a great bargain. We would gladly stay here again.

While doing a search for motels on L.I., I found that prices had doubled and tripled from when I stayed at another location this past March but I found this gem for the price that other hotels were charging months ago and investigating further, found a majority of very positive reviews. If you need a negative, it would be the tight parking between the buildings but other than that, I would stay there again.

Super clean. Reasonably priced. Great location. Close to Paramount Theater.

Most important for me when traveling is 1 cleanliness - 2 aesthetic of the space. I rate this excellent in both regards!!

When you first pull up to the Whitman you might think, "uh-oh" because the exterior and the reception lobby leave a lot to be desired BUT don't let that fool you, this is an excellent and fairly inexpensive motel/hotel for 1 or 2 nights. The reviews are accurate. The rooms have all been redone to a high standard - (I've stayed at 4 star hotels that were not as nice). The bed was excellent and comfy. The room was small but totally adequate and very clean. The AC worked well. There is plenty of free parking. There is an excellent diner just 8 minutes down the road-the Dix Hills Diner. The bathroom had been completely overhauled and it was very stylish - the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. There was a generous fridge that worked really well and a large screen TV. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone seeking a 1 or 2 night stay. If you're visiting friends or family, as we were, the place is perfect. If the rooms were larger you could stay longer but the rooms are basically "motel size" - big enough but not generous.
